Avalanche Software's last game was Cars 3: Driven to Win in 2017...
and their track record is hardly anything to call home about (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalanche_Software). All I see are a bunch of Disney games and then some Mortal Kombat ports in the 90s. I can't see a single noteworthy game on their list except for maybe MK: Trilogy. What makes everyone think this game will be any different and what's with all the hype surrounding it (besides the standard HP-associated hype)? This game has more of a chance of being lackluster than not unfortunately.

It's all that really matters here , really . Even if this game was made by a beer company that never looked in the direction of a video game, this would sell like crazy . "Wizarding World" is a strong brand in itself

Plus the power fantasy of being a Hogwarts studant. Even if it's bad , the experience will have been worth

Well judging by footage from their older games it's a good chance some more effort is going into Hogwarts Legacy comparatively. Maybe it's just the graphics talking. Who knows? I will still wait and see for the reviews.

I think its fair to say that a lot of people will be disappointed by the game.
The hype is just too big for that not to happen.

Still - what I am hyped about is not a perfect game that makes everyone happy and ticks all boxes. What I want is to run around Hogwarts, cast a few spells, see a little magic.

The idea that only a perfect game is worth spending money on is very weird to me. Some of the games I had the most fun playing were incomplete or have been simply regarded as bad games.

Also - I have seen the gameplay trailers. There was enough content for me to know I will enjoy the game.

If I learned anything from my last 2 pre-orders (Jurassic World Evolution and Shadow of the Tomb Raider) I can safely say, ♥♥♥♥ the hype.

Both those games didnt live up the expectations and left a sour taste.

So if you hype something up and it doesnt deliver, its all on you. Not the product.

From what we have seen of the video's that has been shared... I can already tell that i do not regret preordering the deluxe version
They also worked on Disney Infinity which was pretty decent as a game.

Every developer starts somewhere and they're relatively young.

If you're cautious about pre-ordering then wait for impressions when it's actually out.

Yeah I agree. Definitely waiting until after reviews to come out to see if it's any good. I'm trying not to be too optimistic...

Wait for release and then wait for reviews and we will know.

The serious reviews of course , not the boycott ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
And dont read kotaku please... dont open the trashcan.

How, they made Disney Infinite 2013. Have you tried it? It sold for over 1 billion and was kind of “open world/sandbox” back in the days every family had it and it was fun, so much to do. And the game got a average score of 8/10. They made Disney games cause of Disney bought them… they got bought out by WB after disney ceased operations as disney games wouldn’t make much revenues anymore as people wouldn’t buy physchical toys to the games.

They just didn’t only make Disney game, they did also make Just Cause and Call of The wild etc

That's actually amazing. Given what they've shown of this game already they have clearly progressed a lot as a studio. Good for them for making a game that is able to wake up that sleeping inner child sitting on the floor in front of the couch marathon watching the entire Harry Potter movie series.

Save your breath. There are smooth brained neckbeards who rhink cyberpunk 2077 is a good game and everyone excired for this gamehasnt read anything since the books were popular.

Cyberpunk had the chance to be a masterpiece to the level of Witcher 3 and look how that went.
DrKold Jan 19, 2023 @ 8:30am
You guys think cyberpunk is bad ?

Did i miss something lol
many great companies released trash titles anyway so track record is hardly anything to go by these days. I was half afraid Elden Ring was going to suck balls.
