"There is clear evidence that the Chamber was opened more than once between the death of Slytherin and the entrance of Tom Riddle in the twentieth century. When first created, the Chamber was accessed through a concealed trapdoor and a series of magical tunnels. However, when Hogwarts’ plumbing became more elaborate in the eighteenth century (this was a rare instance of wizards copying Muggles, because hitherto they simply relieved themselves wherever they stood, and vanished the evidence), the entrance to the Chamber was threatened, being located on the site of a proposed bathroom. The presence in school at the time of a student called Corvinus Gaunt – direct descendant of Slytherin, and antecedent of Tom Riddle – explains how the simple trapdoor was secretly protected, so that those who knew how could still access the entrance to the Chamber even after newfangled plumbing had been placed on top of it."
So, if i understand this properly, it would still remains lore friendly if we can access them via a quest (maybe a Slytherin one), it's not because some headmaster haven't found it that some student didn't during their life in Hogwart, some liberty could be taken
PS: Another quote from the same page
"Successive headmasters and mistresses, not to mention a number of historians, searched the castle thoroughly many times over the centuries, each time concluding that the chamber was a myth. The reason for their failure was simple: none of them was a Parselmouth."
If the Slytherin companion is a Parselmouth, maybe we would be able to see it
But don't expect to see it in game, because if it's not, you will be disapointed
I'm sure we will find OTHER secret chambers though.
Will we have it tho ? That is another question, maybe, i hope it will, but i don't expect it to happen, to avoid unnecessary hype that could ruin my game enjoyement
like @DisAdam and @vaanomega said.
I am sure there will be references to it in the base game, but I don't see it being part of the base game, if it was they would have probably heavily advertised it's existence but they didn't.
Yes, because family's of the person who built the bloody thing born after the person whom built the bloody thing definitely could not exisi... oh wait yes they 100% can seeing as that is how heirs work and so just because your create-a-character player isn't doesn't mean that the game can not go "oi, Billy Bob over there playing with his pet snakes just happens to be an heir to one of the original headmasters", so there is zero reason why it can't be in the game... but as I said in my previous post it is highly unlikely to be in the base game seeing as how ambitious the project already is for a developer who has never done something so large before, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that if the game doesn't flop that maybe it gets added in as a post release DLC.
As I also stated there wouldn't be all that much interesting down there seeing as it is basically just a sewer tunnel with a pet snake. My wager is that it is not in the base game but maybe a year down the line they release a $10-20 DLC expansion that gives a reason to go down there wither it be an heir of Slitherin comes into the school late because plot reasons or wither it be someone was studying parseltounge and accidentally opened it because in the books it never actually clarified wither it was because Harry had part of Tom's soul or wither it was simply the fact that he spoke Parsiltounge that allowed him to open it, yes he only knew parseltounge because of having part of Tom in him but seeing as it opens to the snake language being spoken and not to some blood sacrifice it would be safe to guess that it might just be the parseltounge is the requirement and the only reason they believe it to be a true heir of Slytherin is because that skill is so rare that most people who actually aquire that skill are heirs of Slytherin.
As such your logic as to why it wouldn't be in the game is flawed even though I agree in that I highly doubt it would be in the game due to the shear size of the already daunting game for a team who has never made something so big before, at least at launch.
yes I know.. sigh... it was just a silly idea that if we did manage to open it.. like something silly like blowing the sink up or something, that it would end badly.
Or you know... an NPC student that you can become allies with just happens to meet the requirements to open it... just because it is a single player game and you are not forced into a certain house doesn't mean that there is not ways to adhere to the lore while still letting you do it.... again not saying that is the case and if anything it would probably be a $10-20 DLC a year down the line if at all, but just pointing out that just because your character wouldn't be able to open it lore wise doesn't mean that you can't get an NPC to do so.
