Why is there no Quidditch?

Quidditch is one of the most recognizable parts in Harry Potter… so why is it not going to be in Hogwarts Legacy?

Thair reasoning is that they dident wanna divide resources to 2 diffrent things and instead opted to make what they had better by focusing on the story and gameplay

Tons of people ask for quidditch. Clearly there's a market there. Maybe a niche to fill one of those days. I'll be rooting for you when the time comes.

Just because it's story-based doesn't mean that it can't have extra side activities as well. The earlier Assassin's Creed games, GTA and Red Dead redemption 2 had side activities that you can do.

Making Quidditch work would take up a lot of resources which the makers at this point prefer to use to make the core game good. Maybe in the future they'll add it in. But if you ask me Quidditch is better suited to be it's own separate game.

I hope to everyone who has read the books or watched the movies has realized that Quidditch as a sport is completely broken and was written as a way to make Harry the hero. Quidditch in this game will be referenced to but will not be playable as Quidditch requires it's own development to properly work for play-ability. What we have to look forward to is broom challenges and broom flight as a convenience to travel the map. Also with the first game play reveal the devs have said they had to rip band-aids off in regards to mini games (such as wizards chess, gobstones, and quidditch) to focus on the story and overall world.

Ye, its quite difficult to add basically an entire different genre of game into another.

Quidditch is 100% sports, where as the rest would be RPG. Would drain a lot of Developer time for a side game.

Its why GTA as an example doesnt have Gran Turismo level of driving, any GTA race just shows how it isnt designed for racing. You gotta split resources and use an engine that could sort of do both decently. Just look how basic it was in previous games.

If you truly want to play some quidditch, "Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup" (game) was released in 2003 :'). Good times.

I can honestly see them adding it in as a mid to large DLC. some dude shows up inviting everyone to a large Quidditch tournament happening at a completely different location, a few story bits happen and you join up and win alongside some famous players. then the Quidditch world cup happens and so on.

it'll be great for replayability as well where you can start your OWN team and win "mini" tournaments where you can get some special reward if you make it 1st, similar to Blitzball in Final Fantasy X. old game, but you get my point if you've ever played that game. randomized rewards with tournaments that happen here and there which you can keep doing.

or they could go all out and actually have a League system for your team. start at the lowest League, work your way up to the highest and actually invest your own wizarding money into your team. the higher leagues gives you bigger rewards and money while the lower ones don't, maybe some sponsorship type things and actual be able to sign contracts to players. basically FIFA, but for Harry potter lmao. I don't see a world in which they'll do all THAT but it'll be beyond wild if they did.

Because this requires a separate mechanic.
It's literally a game within a game.
If the poor devs have been making the game for about 5 years and could not add the character the ability to sit on a chair... what kind of Quidditch are we talking about?))))
