Keep in mind they cherry picked what went into the trailer. They also wanted to give you a feeling of the progression, make the PC look powerful, etc. So they weren't really showing him losing. They may have also been on the 'easiest' settings.
But it still looked fun to me. I never found assassin's creed overly challenging at normal levels either, but I still enjoyed those games (generally speaking).
Even the best Harry Potter games.(The first 3 games) didn't exactly have a deep combat. SO I prefer this combat over their's as well.
Hack n' slash is just a general known type of game. Ofc it's not it because there is no hack and slash, but the combos are there. Let's say... Just like Spider-Man game. You keep on comboing those enemies 'till they don't have HP anymore to keep boucing in the air haha
I'm playing HP1 GBC version. It's different ball game. I tried HP1 PC version and it didn't hold up good, at least to what I remembered playing it as a kid, briefly at a friend's house. It's just a long game of go here and go there collecting beans.
This one might be the best one combat wise. I just hope they don't make it is easy as they made in the gameplay reveal trailer. It was very obvious that the main character was owning all the enemies with no effort. I myself like to see gameplay where the main character has a hard time to achieve their goal just to see what it is actually gonna look like.
I don't disagree, it's just hard to know (at least from what I've seen), what the context of those battles was (e.g. was the character over-leveled, over-geared, etc.). If nothing else, hopefully they have a difficulty option at the start, where you can set it to story mode, normal, hard, insane or whatever.
Absolutely mate. That's exactly how it felt back in the day! The combat gameplay in the gameplay blew my mind.
I believe the devs mentioned that you'll have several difficulty settings to choose from (as far as being easy goes). I'm hoping one of them is on an "Insane" level
I quite enjoyed the mechanics tbh, especially the bits where you go into some sort of slow mo (this probably lets you quickly analyse the situation to change targets and decide which spells you're gonna use next) - kind of reminded me of Dragon Age 2 xD
Oof... Yeah. Totally. And I hated that game. Did you see Russian Badger's review about it? He nailed it. That game was such a spamm attack button that he even filmed himself use several stuff to keep on hammering the Mouse1 button, even a hammer! And the character kept going and betting the living sht out every enemy with ease.... hahaha
I hope so. I also hope they don't forget audio design as means to achieve full immersion. Like listenning to the wind passing through Hogwarts hallways and footsteps according to each type of floor. That would be insane!
Never tried it with a keyboard and mouse, but using a controller, combat is super smooth and satisfying.. if HL is like that, I'm down
If it is, I'm not.
How would you realistically want combat to work?
Try Dark Souls or The Warriors type of gameplay. You can get hit by other enemies and you can parry, stun or whatever. In both these games the enemies actually feel like they are getting hit and have a chance to hit back, instead of just staying there to be your personal punch bag.
Seem like someone didn't learn how to read.
