I was reading up on consoles and office ranks, and looking up ship specs. It looks like cruisers are out of the questions for a Tac.
Since an escort has lower HP and shield boost and hull repair are important, when should I look for bridge officers with attack patterns (III) and target system (weapon, engine, and shield) skills?
Are attack/dispersal patterns useful for an escort?
You could run a cruiser if you want, many do, and have success doing so. Cruisers that fit naturally with a tac captain would be the excelsior or Regent if you want to spend money (the galor or D'Kora if you want to spend even more money), or the assault cruiser if you dont. Youd just have more damage than your average cruiser but less tanking ability, which only really matters much in Elite STFs or some of the hard fleet credit missions.
