"Cryptic Game Launcher has stopped working"

I hit the play button (via Steam), a window pops up (probably to update) and then that message pops up. I have reinstalled, tried different/other launchers and still I get this, and various other things. I can't seem to fix this.

I had the some problem,.. got the launcher working by disabling the following programs : i don;t know what program caused it but this is my list with programs i disabled and made the launcher working :
Skype
Teamviewer
Hamachi ( including adapter )
Display Fusion ( including second monitor )
G19 keyboard display
Internet download manager ( internet/download accelerator )

Hope this helps,.. I'll try to pinpoint what excaclty causing the error here.

edit : the reason it crashed here was Display Fusion and teamviewer 8

Went through and tried that suggestion, everything is closed and it still happens.

G19 keyboard display: Not owned
Internet download manager: Not installed.

Firewall and antivirus were disabled.

What makes me mad?

Warcraft Launcher: Works
Secret World Launcher: Works
Star Wars launcher: Works

Only STO's launcher crashes IMMEDIATELY. I click 'play' in Steam and bam, immediate crash.

I have discovered that on my laptop with the dual intel/nvidia graphics card you have to set the launcher (Star Trek Online.exe) to run on intel, and the game (game client.exe) to run on nvidia you can set this up via the nvidia control panel

It only worked for a short period and started doing it again.

this is silly im having th esame problem, i get into the patcher, and then it gets like 12% in before my cimpure blue screens, im on windows 7 any ideas guys would be much apprichiated this is the only mmo i know of that actually runs ok on my laptop, PLEEEEASEEE

For me it was quitting out of both the TeamViewer and LogMeIn clients - after quitting out of those it loaded up and began patching without issue.

im having blue screen issues with this game. i lowered the mem thru my motherboard only to get a diff error. i really liked my character too.

yep, Lynxin has right: You have to set on your Nvidia panel the StarTrekOnline.exe to launch on integrated graphics and the Game Client.exe on the Nvidia graphics. The Cryptic launcher has a problem with Nvidia's drivers and only works with he integrated graphics (for me, it's Intel...) For me it solves the problem...
