There is no true end game in STO, just Endless grind. All you have to do at end game is do TFOs at a higher difficulties, chase DPS, develop your account and captain builds, space barbie, event gear and ship collecting. All the mission content and TFOs is playable at normal difficulty with a good casual build.

I understood almost none of that, and still didn't really answer how long it takes to be able to get to do that? I guess?

At Level 50+ you will slowly get access to features and Adventure zones. Which technically is End Game.

TFO is Task Force Operations that are PVE mission. Don't have to do them if you don't want to. I've been playing along time on and off and i hardly do them. Still funny people recommend DPS builds still.

are you saying, how long it will take to finish all arc stories? getting into the "end game"? catching up until the latest episode/arc story?

FYI, hitting the max level cap has almost nothing to do with actually having so called "end game ready" build. Getting to max level is like a week realtime ish, but getting a viable build going is either through months/years of grind or "pay 2 skip" all that.

There are ways to do it faster, but if just going through the storyline, you'll gain about one level per episode. Depending how fast you go, 40-60 hours sounds realistic to me to get to max level (65). If you use various exploits, it can be done in about 4-6 hours, but....

...as mentioned, simply being at max level is a milestone, not a goal.

There is no end.

Ten years ago I reached whatever max level and so on. Then upgraded everything until I quit getting destroyed in battle. Then bought a lifer so that the game becomes self supporting with a small income of zen each month no cash needed.

I log in several times a week, maybe aseveral times a month or even a few times a year or two. Its has no end. No bottom no finished everything. Its endless on purposes.

The reason for a endless non finishing online grind game is so you spend dollars. YOU are the product not the other way around.

some say its a few months some say its longer, i guess it depends on your playtime tho, also, as a mmo, you join others in content all the time as there are a lot of queued pve (tfo's) missions, ive been in misisons where my teammates are level 10+ , what the game does is it will up your gear to match the tfo

When you reach the highest rank, for me that would be the end game. What we have now, are generic missions, which feel repetitive. I tend to play the game, twice a year, between the major updates in the storyline.

Good thing this is a free game because I certainly would not pay for it.

i played when it first came out ten years ago. got to level 54, remember it being an endless grind of go in to a system and scan three things fight three enemy's and boom mission done.

i came back about 2 weeks ago, not even. i restarted a toon because i couldn't remember any of the mechanics. im playing casually but am really enjoying the story lines, not at all like i remember it. it was pretty quick for me to get to fleet admiral.

Ranks in game are considered a decoration for those who need that sort of affirmation in their lives. It influences nothing.

I'll explain.

You enter space dock as a high muck a muck and a model of a major general and all that stuff.

No one cares.
