Me and a few other players in my fleet added the buffs, debuffs, the type of weapons needed and the class of player with an escort, in 10-15 seconds you can lay enough fire power down on one brog ship facing, to destory it quickly.
But for 3 seconds sounds like someone was B.S'ing.
-Edit- I forgot alot of thinhgs that factor in to this. lol
-Weapon type/Energy type- At level 50, using purple type weapons, and depending on the type of weapon used and its energy base type, you can have some pretty powerful weapons. Not to mention fleet type weapons of the same kind, which are even more powerful. Every weapon has different configurations to the same type as well. Some give better accuracy, critical chance, or cirtical serverity type boosts. It can be one boost type at a high amount, or it could be multiple at decent amounts.
-Ship type- With the Adorian Kumari Escort ship, you have 5 fore weapon slots with 5 tactical slots. Problemly the most powerful escort ship in the game. You also have fleet type ships that are not the same setup but are powerful to say the least.
-Ship consoles- With the ship mentioned above, you have 5 tatical console slots. Like before, depending on your weapon types, you can give on heck of a bonus to the base damage. Either on the weapon type or the energy type of weapon. Take anti-proton, you can get a console device that boost that type of damage up 26.2%, times that by 5 and your looking at 131% boost to your weapon damage.
-Player skills/traits/level- This should go without saying. You can boost amount, chance and serverity type damages, and also player buffs and debuffs. Also access to more powerfull weapons, ships, items and so on. most notable are the MK XII level item's, as of now, as far as i know, are the highest level items around.
For the buffs right now i have two buffs that give great bonuses to damage, both base and and critical, as well as chance. They are, Attack Pattern Alpha III and Tatical Fleet II. Used together, i get a 79.6% damage bonus, 5% critical chance, and 49.9% critical serverity.
-Reputation bonuses- As of now, you have 4 factions in which you can gain Rep with. Each one has 5 tiers max to be had. Each tier gives you an option of having a passive space or ground combat trait. Not only that but you have access to new types of ship items, that can also play into the damage factor.
So yeah, 3 seconds....I wouldent say yes or no to it with out at least testing it out myself first. Which would take some time.
If your talking about trying to go for a three second kill then...
Not really, depending on how you press the attack on a borg cube and the type of cannon's you're going to use. Dual cannons, both heavy and standard have the best fire power, but only the smallest targeting arc which is just 45'. Single cannons do give 180' arc, but lack in power alot, so much so it could be said turrents are better then single cannons with the 360' arc they have.
Even so you still would only be able to fire 50% of your weapon base at any given time. Making the turn to get your aft weapons lined up to fire would add to much time. Even if you were to move towards the cube, fire, then go up and over to avoid making a turn it would still tac on a second or more.
Not to mention a tactical crusier does not have the turning or the speed to do that at base level. With Evasive III buff you might be able to do it in the 7 second window.
No, you would have to go for a full frontal attack everything you have in one shot. So you would need to have a ship with 5 fore weapons, to get the max with heavy dual cannons.
