Torpedo Spread III & Two Different Torp Types
Will the Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedo and the Omega Plasma Torpedo fire at the same time when I activate Spread III. Basically will they both spread at the same time?

No just 1 and that which is in your first ship weapon slot.

What about without the buff? will they both fire?

No. Unless you have the [spr] mod with gives a 2.5% free torpedo spread. Most weapons in the game share a global cooldown. So in your case if you have both torpedoes slotted in 2 weapons slots, say slots 1 and 2 in the front(assuming 4 foreward slots and firing cycle is 1,2,3, then 4). It will fire #1 first then apply a cooldown, if the cooldown is short enough 1-2 seconds it will reload and fire again, if the cooldown lasts longer it will cycle to fire the second torpedo, then come back to the first. Basically if you want to use torpedos either go a knockout shot or a machine gun build and let the torps fly. FYI photon torpedos have the shortest CD in the game and "highest DPS" because of that. Properly built you can shoot a photon every 1-1.5 seconds. That being said, many things resist the full impact of torpedos, primarily shields and alloy consoles.

I would recommend you the (Enhanced Bio-Molecular Photon Torpedo). Look here my biggest damage with him with high yield 2 --> Your Enhanced Bio-Molecular Photon Torpedo - High Yield II deals 159389 (58958) Kinetic Damage(Critical) to Tactical Cube.

Wow thats amazing! I've seen my omega plasma high yied III (plasma energy bolt) do 120,000k DPS before.

So do u guys advise against using hyper-plasma torp and omega plasma torp together? I'm running a negh'tev T6 (4/4) all AP beams+KCB apart from an omega torp at the front and then possibly a hyper-plasma to go with it once ive got the rest of my rom rep.

The negh'tev has a good turn rate for a battlecruiser (got mine at 17 turnrate), that explains y i want torpedos along with my APs

Ok thanks for the input.

There is a global cooldown for Torpedoes as well as a local cooldown. If you have, for example 3 photon torpedoes slotted forward, and have them autofiring, when you attack the following happens:

.5 second activation of Torp A,
Torp A fires,
Global 1 second CD,
.5 second activation of Torp B,
Torp B fires, Global 1 second CD,
.5 second activation of Torp C, Torp C fires,
Global 1 second CD.

Thats 4.5 seconds interval since you first fired Torp A. The local CD on photon is 6 seconds (plus the .5 activation). Which means you must wait 2 seconds before Torp A can fire and begin the cycle again. They have the quickest local CD, so it just gets worse from there.

Slotting active duty doffs with Projectile will give a chance to reduce the local CD, but not the global, so assuming you have 3 purple doffs active, with multiple torp launchers, you could typically fire them in sequence every 1.5 seconds endlessly.

You can never fire multiple launchers at the same time.

You cannot use a High Yield or Spread for multiple launchers at a time.

When you activate a Boff High Yield or Spread, the next available launcher will be 'enhanced' with that Boff ability. In your case, if you had Hyper Plasma and Omega slotted, and just fired the Hyper Plasma, it will be on cooldown, thus when you hit your Spread button, the Omega launcher will be charged with a spread and will fire accordingly.

I've been having great fun with the Gravimetric, Bio-Molecular and vanilla photon launchers kitted fore. I have torp spread two and three, with a gravity well and kinetic shearing.
