dilithum exchanged disabled
So like my title suggest's I used steam wallet to buy some zen in game. Their fraud system has locked me out of the dilithum exchange now does anyone have any idea how long until this go away?

It's been around 50 something hours since it first appeared

If you buy zen through Steam it is bound to you, including lock box keys, ship upgrades, R&D packs, and you can't put any of the zen on the Dilithium exchange. Why is this so you ask? Because PWE does not want you to buy zen through Steam they want you to use their ARC launcher instead.

Oh do shut up yerger. It's a temporary thing to ensure stolen credit cards haven't been used to buy Steam credits with.

It's a known issue with Steam and their very slow bank procedures - ARC are just covering their asses (they definitely should give you an estimate of how long you're locked for though)

But if you buy it with ARC or directly from their web site they don't worry about stolen credit cards, nothing is bound and you can put the zen on the exchange...go figure.

They stated they couldn't tell me when it will be enabled I did have to ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan to get an answer from them. nice half ass company they are.

Because... they can actually check the records themselves directly instead of having to rely on the banks of third parties?

I'm not saying it isn't incredibly annoying. I'd love to be able to buy a few keys and open a few lockboxes - but I won't as long as my keys will turn any contents instantly bound to my account.

The logic is there - Frustrating as it may be to the user. It's not like you're forced to use your Steam Wallet is it? You're even warned of the restriction.

Wait so I can or cannot put zen I purchased via steam wallet on the exchange?

When you buy zen via steam, after the transaction, log out, then log back in and you will be able to buy things unbound.

It is a technical issue to prevent fraud, like he said. It's only temporary, like he said. I had the same issue. It lasted about no time. I then continued playing. I didn't come on here and call them a half assed company either. I actually love the devs and what they've done with the game. I couldn't be happier with it. It beat out all my expectations for an mmo and for a star trek game. It's like starfleet command 1+2+rift+all kinds of dlc. Some people just never are satisfied and I've seen that all through my gaming experience of 16yrs.

I understand the need for protection, that I have no problem with it. The fact is i am stuck with this until it goes away which has lasted nearly three days so far. They said they can't remove it so I do have a right to be annoyed for being punished for doing nothing wrong.

I like the game, i like the system it is fun. Not saying it ain't sure they do a good job but here they dropped the ball somewhat is all.

Nope - It lasts for several days if not weeks. I'm on my fourth day of being "restricted" after swapping some of my steam wallet for Zen to buy a ship upgrade token.

It works for me, every time. I buy zen with my wallet, I try to buy something in store, it says it's going to be bound, I log out, I log in and the problem is gone.

Edit: Found the official response, which also includes the mention of a "up to 10 day probation" label. And of course they confirmed the fact that anything bought while on "probation" will be permanently locked to your account - including anything purchased/opened with such items (such as opening lockboxes with keys or buying ships with lobi)

I bought some Zen via Steam for the last key sale - I was locked for about 10 minutes.

Perhaps its more of a verification delay with your bank. I know some banks can take up to 2 days before a charge will officially show on your statement.

Once Steam receives full verification from your Bank it passes this along to PW? Just an idea, but it sounds right.

There is no bank to check with - The money has been in my Steam wallet for over a year. It is much more likely that ARC haven't gotten around to flag the source as legitimate through Steam's accounts.

"Up to 10 days" means just that - emphasis on Up To.

When I bought Zen, only the ability to buy Dilithium was locked. I could spend the Zen on anything in the store.
