How to select a shuttecraft/runabout

So basically 'The Vault' mission requires that I pilot a small craft into a system to infiltrate whats it what. So I bought a Danube-class runabout and I was wondering how the hell do select the runabout for the mission. I try doing the 'select ship' thing in the transporter room but it says I already selected it, I go to tactical view and there aint notin. If someone can give me a pointer that'd be great.

Go talk to the ship requsitions officer in Starbase 39 (or any other base, but since that's where you should be when you get 'The Vault' mission that is the closest)

look at the wee mini map and see the downward arrow at the bottom corner , click on that and a wee menu drops down , were you can click on shuttle bridge , once there talk to your ship selector crewman and a menu comes up , in the bottom left is the choice to select shuttle or starship, then just leave bridge and when you come back out you will be flying your shuttle .

Yea I already requesitoned the shuttle, I have a Danube-class runabout, should I get another ship or something?

When I do that I cant ready starship, its grayed out.

You don't need to mess about like that since ages ago. All you need to do to switch to your shuttle (or any other of the character's ships for that matter) is go to your character page and select your ship on the status page when in space. Then just click the "switch starship" button and select the one you're switching to. That's all.

Even then, you don't even need to switch ships, it should switch you automatically when you start the mission.

I am a free to play player..no money how to get the shuttle for the vault mission?I checked earth spacedock and sierra 39 base and both ships officers at those locations do not have the shuttles displaying....

If your are Fed, The type 7 shuttle in the store is free. When you start the Vault on Starbase 39, you are given a chit for a small shuttle that you take to the Ship and Shuttle Requisition officer and have to pick the type 8 shuttle. You have to uncheck all the choices for ships except Smallcraft to find shuttles in the ship vendor list.

Goto the Ship Selection Officer, on that page look on the lower left corner for a check choice of SmallCraft or Starship. Put check in Small craft then beam up to your ship.

Anyone else looking for a clearer answer, if it's your first shuttle, you should check your inventory first and equip it. Only then will it be selectable using the above methods.

I'm stuck on a shuttle and I can't get back to my main ship. I can explore the bridge of my main ship but i can't use it in space. How do I get my main ship in space again?

OK this is how you do it. You go to the bridge of your vessel which you do by clicking the little drop down triangle in the bottom right corner of menu cluster on the top right of the screen and then select which ship you want to be active from the ships section of your vessel.

Once you close that, you will also have an option to return to ship view.

I, too, had this issue but the fix some are saying where you can go to the bridge didn't work for me. It was greyed out. What -did- work was bringing up the "Status" window with the U key and clicking "Switch Starship".

That said, when I try to continue the mission, the trans-warp takes me back to Qo'Nos instead of Haakona.
