Have you ever played this game before ?
http://www.ign.com/games/earth-beyond-139507/pc-15570
You ok man I was asking you question Did you ever play earth and beyond before?
It came out in September 24, 2002
Nope just asking questions. Trying to make small talk man
Just trying to be nice is all and have a conversation.
This is off topic though .
I hope there nothing wrong with me talking to you about different topics.
If there is sorry to bother you.
Whats funny is there used to be a perfect defense against that kind of garbage. Science officers had that one ability that reflects damage back to the attackers, but at a much higher rate. When you saw one of those Tac ships pop their load and start firin, you popped your defenses and the reflect damage ability and they exploded before you did.
Instead of changin the real problem in that equation (the ridiculous burst damage), they nerfed the crud out of the damage reflect.
Let's be honest here. PVP in STO has always been an afterthought. Skills, classes, and even races where not balanced around players fighting players ( if they were even balanced at all... ). They added in PVP as a side derversion at release, and then over time gave it maybe 2 new space maps, and 1 new ground map in the 5 years it's been active. 5 years, 10 seasions. Only supported by a few new locations and nothing to net from it. Sure, you can do a PVP match for dil, but saying it's like 400 dil, vs the 8000+ you can earn doing PvE dailys, even more now with Delta's, why would you even think about it? The Weapons and armor all pale next towards crafted gear, and there's nothing at the end of the day to even look at your past history and explots in PVP to boot.
Yeah, it's pretty much P2W Tac Crit abuse hell at the end of the day anyway, but no one does it in earnest as there's nothing to get from it that matters or couldn't be gotten by other means.
Says the person with no recorded hours to stand his ground. Yeah, sub 400 hours isn't as much as others for sure, but it's enough to know the game well enough. WoW gives you mounts and other goodies you can only get via it's PvP setting and has a leaderboard ordeal to aim to get better at. GW had a lot of stuff you only could earn and uterlise under it's PvP setting. STO has...well...extra dil earnings? Other MMO's tend to encourage even casural players with the idea of gains for thier time, regardless if they can't seem to net any wins in turn from it, they will still eventuraly get something for their time doing PvP. It keeps people going into the system, and as STO devs put it outright "Keeps butts in seats". STO lacks any of that thought in earnest, and I'm sure if they did, even with the OHKO crit abuse we have now would be far more active just because people would be doing it mindlessly just to get a shiny reward at the end of the week or month.
Yeah, some people want to do PvP because it allows you to see how well you stack up over others, but in this era of MMO's, if you don't dangle a carrot in front of the players face, they wonder why they even should do it in the first place.
Faction and Class balance alone would do a long way but that's something the DEVs mentioned a dozen times isn't any of their concern as the game is about Star Trek and not PvP.
Aswell as the game is Federation focused and not much is to expect for Klingons and Romulans as those are only supposed to be nice looking bystanders to make the Federation look even more awesome.
Alone those facts are enough to see why PvP isn't going anywhere in STO and never again will do.
So either suck it up and Play it for the Star Trek vibe they aswell get wrong as it is mostly Pew Pew everything instead of exploration and diplomacy.
To be honest if you want PvP STO is not the game you are looking for other games like EvE, WoT, CS, BF, DOTA, etc. jump to mind that might satisfy the need for that and in some even the community is actualy tolarable.
PvP was broken from the start. In all the years of STO they have not once addressed it, publicly or secretly. They know theres nothing to do about it now.
