Do u think having the cutting beam, ancient Omni, and a standard Omni as AFT weapons will work well together? I made a mistake by outfitting my negh'var with all cannons and I never took the slow turn rate of battlecruisers into account lol.
I'm converting to all beams (beam boat) and I'm guessing having 360 degree beams at the back is the way to go? And all beam arrays at the front?
Another thing also, I worried over the damage beam arrays do compared to DHCs. Currently I've got 4x AP DHCs mk XIIIs at the front and 2x omnis, 1x beam array, and 1x vaadwuar cluster at the back. When im broadsiding with my beams they do 'unsafisfying' damage but when I face my target the DHCs do all the damage, considerably!!
When I finally replace my DHCs with front beams im worried my ship won't cause enough damage compared to the DHCs. How can extract the most damage out of beams? My consoles are as follows:
Engineering:
Assimiliated module
Zero-point energy concuit console
Tetrburnium alloy (change?)
Ablative hull armor (change?)
Science:
Shield Refrequencer (change?)
Field Generator (change?)
Tactical:
3x AP Mag
I'm an engineer and only have 2 slots on my tactical station which is annoying. Don't tell me get Plasmonic Leech as I refuse to buy an entire ship just for a console lol. Keep it realistic. Any suggestions?
So sustained damage vs. high burst damage. Both have their merits.
For a full beam build you will need a lot of weapon power, so have emergency power to weapons atleast, aux to battery will help too. Energy siphon on the science side if possible. If you are an engineer you will have your own space ability to help aswell.
Zero-point and Assimilated are ok, might want to switch the armor ones to Neutronium or fleet variant if available (damage resistance to all damage types).
Science don't matter much, if you are not doing exotic damage. Something shield enhancing which you have.
Tacs are ok, but (fleet) Vulnerability Locators are the way to go.
(FYI you get Fleet science consoles at the Embassy and Fleet engineering consoles and warp cores at the Mine)
