Depends what you want.

The Avenger, Eclipse and Presidio are all solid, but each have their own pros and cons. The latter two have access to their respective specialized hybrid seats and the benefits thereof(namely damage spikes and suppression/healing/fighters, respectively); the Avenger has a 5/3 weapon which benefits builds with a forward attack focus.

It's probably also worth mentioning that the Presidio automatically comes as a 'Fleet-level' T6 - meaning it gets the extra console of a fleet ship and the extra bridge slot of a T6.

The Guardian is a very respectable all-rounder for people who want to do a little bit of science, tanking, and pew pew all at the same time(without being super-specialized in any of them). It is, however, very cumbersome to maneuver.

The only differances I see is the tier 6 ships hull cap increases at level 60 and they have Intelligence Seating if I was to have to choose one I'd go with the Eclipse.

The game has me stuck on this issue also.. Spend money for the T5 upgrade or just buy the new T6.

Just dont buy any tier 6 ships. They are not "better" than the avenger.. period. (This is the short answer). But again, and this happens with all the questions of this sort, depends 99,9% of the style of play you want.

I agree i only got the command ships because different play style enjoy what you like :)

In fact, with an Aux to Inertial Dampeners Build (Doffs), the Guardian Cruiser turns fine, your resistances remain high all the time, and if you keep going around circling your enemy while broadsiding, your defence is also pretty high, even on that big of a ship. It's definitely worth thinking about, eventhough it's not yet "Fleet", but that should come eventually, since those ship consoles are already set for when the Fleet versions arrive.

Last time i looked the dilithum the price was 192 = 1z so just take the 2500 or 3000 x 192 = amount of dil you have to pay for your ship if you don't want to pend any money on the game. You'll sure as hell be spending a lot of time farming dilithium instead.

This topic is making my head spin. I just started playing again and got the free upgrade for my Chimera... but trying to figure out if I should move to a T6 for my main who is Tactical. The Chimera is a lot of fun and has a lot of plusses, not sure what if similar in T6.
