I am so exhausted from that mental challenge...
(Cheat Sheet : Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots)
As for the Steam screenshot system - that much should be obvious. They are separate systems - If Jrd wants to store his screenshots in the cloud and share them with others through the Steam community, they obviously need to use it)
There is no difference in quality however.
But - If the ingame screenshot system won't work, Steam is an alternative that gives you the same end result.
Your sarcasm is not only stupid, but unnecessary and completely unhelpful since many people don't even have directory "Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots" on their systems.
EDITED TO ADD: Just checked the directory again, and there are two sets of folders that screenshots go under.
If you press F12 it goes to C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\94620928\760\remote\9900\screenshots.
If you press Print Screen, it goes to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online--NOT simply "Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online", which made it sound as if the directory was easy to find and only one directory under Program Files. It's not; it's buried four folders deep.
So the comments still stand. It's just much easier to use F12 or some other keybind, as others have suggested. Click F12, and the screenshots are easily accessible through the Steam client. Just click on View--> Screenshots, select STO from the drop down menu, and there they are. You even have the option of opening the directory that the shots are located in. No having to do a search for ".jpg" on your system, no having to dig through your file directory.
Plus, using F12 is the only way AFAIK that you can directly upload screenshots to the STO community's Screenshot gallery. Otherwise, you will have to copy and paste the shots to the remote\****\screenshots folder (complete with thumbnails) or upload it to the "Artwork" section.
Okay? You seem to have been offended because I told the OP not to go with your suggestion. I wouldn't have made that suggestion in the first place had you not LAZILY mumbled to the OP some vague directions about how to find his screenshots ("navigate to the game's screenshotfolder; I'm sure you can find it on your own)" and pretty much left him to his own devices. This is not how you help people. You don't give vague directions and then go, "Oh, well, you'll figure it out somehow."
You are complaining that screenshots won't appear in that folder? Well of course not - You're referring to the STEAM screenshots folder, not ST:O's own screenshot system.
The only one who should be offended is anyone reading your useless bile.
If you use F12 for the steam screens, i would recommend to change the key setting for F12 in game first since the game uses F12 to rearrange the interface. Shift-F12 for rearranging does the trick already ;).
