Strangely if i cancel download and restart launcher, patches with 3MB and is good to go.

It's the pre-patch for the new expansion

I have the same problem. Even after I get the 3MB the next time I play when I get again the 3GB patch starts and then fails. I haven't found a solution yet.

I've also encountered this issue.

The 3MB update will start when I start the launcher, but after a few seconds the update seems to vanish. What I mean is that it will, after those few seconds, suddenly revert to behaving like there was no patch.

The 3GB update will happen when I close the game. The launcher will restart without prompt, and start the download. I let it complete once, but it didn't change anything.

So far, thankfully, I've been able to log on and play fine so it hasn't affected me much.

RELAX.

It's pre-patching, as was said.

It will continue to patch for you, upon exit, until it has finished downloading the entire patch. This is why it starts back up again, *every single time*.

(Yes, you *would* think something like this would be explained by the launcher itself.)

You're going to need to download all those files ANYWAY, so you might as well just let it happen one time. You can still use other Steam games. Just leave it patching in the background while you're playing something else and everything should work out fine.

There is still a chance that your or their connection will break, so you can either check it regularly or just try your luck.

The only one who needs to relax here is you.

Since you didn't bother to read the previous posts with proper comprehension, I will explain.

The first time this happened for me, I let the patch complete to 100%. However the patch still tries to download every time I exit the client, despite having already downloaded.

Plus, there's the other patch upon startup that a. has the same size as the other patch but one order of magnitude reduced (KB instead of MB) and b. stops after a few seconds.

Neither of those things are normal pre-patching behavior.
