Weird voices

I logged onto one of my characters, was on DS9, and I started hearing these strange voices in the background. I could barely make out any of what they were saying...and I wasn't sure if it was coming from the game. I minimized STO, there was no more music from the game, and the voices continued. I started getting worried that I got some malware or something, and started looking through my Task Manager and Googling the issue to see what might be going on. Eventually I went back to STO, exited the game, and the voices stopped. So I guess it was from the game? Somebody using the voice chat channel? Seems odd that I could still hear them with the game minimized.

I hear somebodies voice chat going on faintly in the background on occasion. This happens on a couple of different maps.

My voice is off, my social is off and so on. I do associate little bit with my TSS Armada when they take a moment to talk with a nobody like me over the game chat. I make sure that the game does not allow outside sources of audio and such to come into my world. Who the hell knows whats on the other end of the line.

I experienced the same thing a few days ago. It sounded like a radio/TV/podcast interview that was being done live, but was too faint to be heard clearly over the game audio.

I've also had the voice audio off pretty much since I started playing STO. Methinks it involved the devs somehow.

I feel like I've experienced this as well and am reminded of the Vevox voice chat advertisements in game.

i hope not i heard pron during this last winter wonder land . for real , someone just had it running in the background lol .

Holografic Leeta? If you hear same thing at Drozana (and Risa's main building, not sure) then that's it.

Check if your voice chat system is completely disabled in the settings. If so, and the if the voice youve heard is a very vague female speaking sound, then it's most probably Quark's holographic Leeta

No, definitely not holo-Leeta. I've heard her voice hundreds of times over and this was not it.
