It was running fine before the update on the 20th and now it's rubber-banding me so bad I found myself standing OUTSIDE Spacedock 1 and got disconnected a half dozen times during a royal flush. Go ahead and keep insisting the problem is him, though. REAL helpful.

I believe that its the account server side not game - i keep losing connection to the account server. nothing is wrong with system or internet and that's the only explanation - if other games are fine.

I always have problem with being kicked out from ST-online and /or Lag.

As a German player it's mainly also an issue with the Telekom, as a Telekom customer STO is extremely laggy and the connection is always fragile. Another player once told me that's because the German Telekom has a beef with some American routing service that STO uses, therefore... Bad luck...

Today the game certainly is unplayable.

Sadly no...theres been login issues for euro and UK players since last night...setting proxy helps at least get past char selection but if your launcher needs to update you're effectively locked out as the updater has zero connection and cannot download essencial launcher updates.
not for me and i live in norway.
gentle reminder : look on this forum for ways to get past the launcher reseting during launcher update using BITS
or google it

check your launcher and under options there is a proxy , chose one , that should end your problem
Apparently if you're in the UK and on Virgin Media, according to their website this afternoon, there was an outage specifically affecting CoD (which also wouldn't boot up for me) and Destiny but obviously it was affecting STO and probably most other online titles too. I wish I'd have seen this notice before reinstalling Windows 11 but hey-ho.

Everything seems to be up and running now. at least.

Yep.
thats nothing new though, you simply didnt know when it happend outside your region or playtime. it seems to be like roulette, going round and round
I actually left the game running for 4 hours in a row, minimized while I watched movies and played OTHER games. Tabbed it open and still ran fine, did some pve runs. and my ISP is utter crap.

i have also done that at times. i once again ran it with 5 profiles and no issues except for loading times. i have access to 4 profiles myself and when someone plays with me, his profile is also added in. my co players does end up beat however. they can not handle the split screen.

For me, the lag only happens at the Starfleet station, at the academy.
