there must be an issue with your equipment, as most people is not having issues. i played it some minuttes ago. though it could be a driver issue on your side. i am trying to help you but, it does not work unless you provide me more information.

It was running fine before the update on the 20th and now it's rubber-banding me so bad I found myself standing OUTSIDE Spacedock 1 and got disconnected a half dozen times during a royal flush. Go ahead and keep insisting the problem is him, though. REAL helpful.

Now it seems the servers died!
there is something on your end that is affecting it. what is your specs? primarily i want to know your operating system, as that is the most relevant here.

win 10

just todays evening is that bad... last weeks it was just slightly laggy... every other games run just fine without any laggy or stucky animations. only STO is freezing (while FPS are still running fine)
curious, i played it in windws 10 earlier today and there was no serious issues. what is your cpu and gpu and ram?

doesnt matter my friend...

I have no issues with my other games... Warzone, Quake Champions etc... fine ping of 15ms.

Only STO is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up today... NPCs stand still and start moving after 5 secs and even doing missions is that laggy... my internet is fine too. No lags in other games.

So now steam wont let me login anymore... "timed out"
I'm just getting into the character selection.
well, that have nothing to do with steam. all steam does is install it and log in to the launcher. once you click engage, steam is done.

But were are you from ?
North America ?

He is from Germany (EU) and I from Belgium(EU)
I always have problem with being kicked out from ST-online and /or Lag.

My Internet Speed test right now:
234Mbps download / 19Mbps up-load

Test conclusion:
"Your Internet connection is very fast.
Your Internet connection should be able to handle multiple devices streaming HD videos, video conferencing and gaming at the same time."

My PC:
Rysen 5 5500
RTX 3050 (8gb memory)
32 RAM
SSD Samsung
Gygabite mb

All other (any) online Games, no problems.
While ST online HAS low performance outside North America, definitively in parts of Europe it seams.

It is on them !
i live in norway actually. near holmenkollen. i can therefore walk to area where the skiing is. though it is straight up and therefore tough. it works well in norway. unless my internet service provider struggles, which happened a few years back.

Strange then.
Means there are different agreements between IP ?
I only had/have problems with ST-online.
Only with ST-online.
-This may be due to the proxy-settings under Options on the Startscreen
-The number of players has increased from 890 to 1250 (steam) and many players has always been a problem of sto. They have never managed to get the servers to run stably.

i have generally not had issues but, a few years back, my internet service provider had issues, which affected all online games. i lost my internet completely during the chess world championship. i could basically not use steam, because my connection was too unstable.

odd, game has been running fine for me for the last...5 hours
NA, and my ISP is unreliable. More so than any of yours.
I used to check the PROXY box, even though I wasnt running a proxy and that fixed my connection issues...somehow.

As a German player it's mainly also an issue with the Telekom, as a Telekom customer STO is extremely laggy and the connection is always fragile. Another player once told me that's because the German Telekom has a beef with some American routing service that STO uses, therefore... Bad luck...

Today the game certainly is unplayable.
