Obtaining extra energy credits?
I'm in a situation right now... guess I need to watch some videos, but I really don't feel like it. So I'm out of energy credits again (lol) after purchasing some massive doff upgrades for my build, and it worked. Except I ran out of "cash"... So how exactly can I get more quickly? I currently get most of them from completing all endeavors and doing the daily event to make progress, selling obtained items along the way. Doing lots of TFOs can be boring sometimes, so I tend to avoid it, especially doing multiple TFOs in quick succession 2 years ago... I'm burned out, and mostly just play the event (dumping things into there to get more powerful when playing the event). What's another best way to keep getting energy credits (without doing TFOs over and over again) or should I just wait until the next day to do endeavors cuz I find doing multiple TFOs boring? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I am doing Doff assignments all the time as well. Most of my Dilithium issues have also been solved, by doing DOff assignments and events after completion.

I would run some of the patrols that have a timered self-reinforcing wave, if you have a good build you can rack up a lot of kills and thus a lot of loot. I've had single patrols that resulted in 400K or so EC after visiting one of the good vendor NPCs.

The patrols that are good for that are: Kern, Kinjer, Imaga, Terrh systems and Briar Patch. There may be more but those are the ones I remember.

DOFFing and Admiralty can also be good for earning EC. If you're Klingon faction/allied, DOFFing can produce Contraband and you can resell that on the Exchange, last time I looked it was going for around 40K per unit.

Crafting items for Exchange sale is a much slower, but viable, method too. Usually the best sellers are the +weapon energy damage consoles, particle emission plasma torpedoes, Conductive RCS consoles with certain mods, Exotic Particle Field Exciter consoles with certain mods, a couple other things. Also, weapons, particularly those with CrtD and/or Dmg mods... beam arrays with [Pen] mods, beam banks with [Pen] mods, dual/dual heavy cannons with [Pen] mods, omni-beams.

Most crafted items don't have a direct EC cost to make, but you'll need the raw materials, and in some cases special DOFFs (which are re-usable).

is it in the rare pool of the fleet doff pool? never checked wether expansion doffs are there too, which expansion are they in?
over time more ec support was added even without tfos. in fact tfos waste a lot of time bc they shouldnt fail too often so most were kinda middish at best b4 cryptic went all gungho with the difficulty and complexity for experienced players.
running the various trade missions and critting em is poissible but ineffectual, kinda, but good for also grinding trade i guess. just remember to always start with the short missions that have no medical danger, no espionage, military marauder doff missions bc they have inherent danger to doffs, no matter the shown difficulty.

selling r+d stuff requires running critting armada missions
-patrols with lotsa spawns had nice drop rates for lowbie ec fodder.

I already sell items via NPCs (usually Ensign Lessa at ESD) rather than recycling from replicator. I'm probably making a bad decision here, but I don't like repeating the same thing every day except the event, so I might just be signing my own demise here and making this discussion pointless as a result :steamfacepalm:

Not wanting repetition is valid, that's why I threw out several options. You could choose from different ones of those options on different days.

admirality is useful, specially if you manage to critical the assignments with energy credit rewards. then you can sell stuff on the exchange.
I tried paying attention to the mission results a couple times, and as far as I can tell I don't get any extra dilithium when I score a critical. I assume the same is true for EC as well? If so, what are criticals good for, just getting more specialization exp?

Criticals get you a boost in combat. Thats where you see a string of boosts on a ship in a multiplayer fight.

I suggest you read the thread for context....

criticals in admiralty enhance rewards that you already get, the best example is that no mission without any r+d rewards can even ever proc a borg tech, but a mission that already can reward it can on a crit give you some borg tech or higher level components!
sadly very rarely, youd need to crit those all the time.
so, if the standard rewards are ecs what then?
