Well, I absolutely second that! :P And yes just creating an Alien lookalike is not the same - you can't even use the typical Orion traits on those ...
At least they could give us the opportunity to let us put our hard earned Orion Boffs from the Diplomacy Commie in an actual Startfleet uniform then! As much as I like having a kinky dressed green lady on my bridge - it's called uniform for a reason! :D
Not all Orions are part of the Syndicate and share that anti-Federation attitude (in fact I'm pretty sure many would be glad to be far away from the Syndicate or the KDF for that matter as they can and would gladly join Starfleet - especially those who would otherwise end up as slaves nonetheless) :P Then again, we also got playable Klingons for Fed bcs of what? Just bcs Worf was a Klingon in Starfleet once either? Come now - think again ... why is that any different to your "just bcs Tendi" counter-argument? ;)
I also remember seeing several few Orions in Starfleet in both Picard and the later Discovery seasons ... so why not? If they can stuff lockbox or event ships from NuTrek down our throats on a regular basis, why not also playable Orions for Fed? In Gre'thor's name, I would even pay the usual 600 Zen for that feature! I even know many players who would do so either! Half of them not even got a kink for Orions - if it's just that what you're worried about ... :P
Easy money for them greedy company dudes, since I'm pretty sure most Peeps are more inclined to sink their money into playable Fed Orions than Lockbox gambling ...
Not sure, but I know there are such for Vulcans and Bajorans (in other storylines), so....
The Bajoran one specifically is in one of the Dyson / Delta episodes, "Escalation" I think it is, when you're trying to arrange everything for Tuvok's briefing. Normally you end up mediating an argument between the Bajoran and Cardassian delegates, but if you are Bajoran, the Cardassian assumes you're taking sides.
