i use a logitech and it works perfectly. it will take you some time to point the software to the .exe or app file that the game is. after you learn how to do that the rest is just programming the buttons and thumbstick sensitivity. you set each button as either lmouse rmouse or keys. r1 is good left mouse and l1 right mouse. if you have questions send me a whisper.

I don't mind KB+M for Ground stuff, because I'm used to it from many other MMORPGs, but I would like to use one for the Space stuuff. It always feels awkward to me trying to 'drive' anything with KB+M.

I also read that it needs some remapping for larger hotbar sets. I've been putting off, so I don't know how much.

And the precission that you get with keyboard / mouse will never be the same with a controller. Specially for this type of game and because it is a computer and you should take advantaje of that.

So why is it labelled as having "full controller support"?

Also, hate to say you were wrong, but the game is out on consoles now. Doesn't need 30 buttons, just smart programming of UI and button toggles.

(ignoring the necro) Console users also have a completley different UI than the PC version of STO.

As with all games, kb and mouse gives much more flexibility and precision than a controller. That being said, I have had zero problems making it to endgame and doing the advanced pve queue with a controller on Xbox.

Wait, I take that back, the targeting can be a pain when there are alot of enemies, but that's it.
