RETURN THE FOUNDRY
I said earlier that I would pay 100 bucks for access. It would breath ten years of life into this game. It's the only way. Also, HAVE SOME KIND OF CONTEST AND LET THE PLAYERS BUILD ZONES OR SOMETHING. i THINK WE KNOW US BETTER THAN YOU DO
I didn't mean to hit capslock but I dont care enough to fix it. Crowd funding might even be an option

Nah 99.99% was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
im not against it. but it needs to be better and constantly improved with a select group of people rating new missions instead of ppl alt rating their own stuff 5 and every1 elses low.
i just dont know how to do it, and how to attract more players with it.
otherwise deca might simply pass on it.
so crowd source some ways how this can make deca more money. prep a good suggestion on the official forums in the suggestion subforum and actively work to gently convince ppl of your option.
over here we can only make some smoke but we are more a selfhelp group for players helping eeach other.
weve mostly been where you and other are coming from- ive distrusted the lockboxese for a long time b4 i noticec their stuff is sold on the exchange too.

It was unsupportable. It'd be nice, but it would make managing STO even more difficult than it is now.
i wonder if someone couldnt write a foss version of it. put it up on github. have people support like other free open source t00l

I needed this game to be a success lol There's a hole in my autistic day with out it...
defining success is the key to happiness. for instance b4 i dipped my toes into auxiliary to battery /very rare technicians from b'tran i was a mook, and for no other reason that i simply didnt believe it could work.
the game needs good wikis and ppl taking others by the hand leading it through its pitfalls.
mind you i could also use a offline version of it too sometimes.
but it doesnt ruin ppls mind and wallet like scopleys star trek fleet command,
its events arent impossible to win like star trek timelines.
compared to those its a winner.
for everything else moddb has the option to look for mods instead of base games.
if the mod name includes star trek theyre easier to find.
mind you im not sure wether vega strike is hot yet.
albeit starfleet command 3 exists i ve never made it run on modern systems and it aint on steam anyway only the first version imo.

Foundry was nice for actual missions, but most (90%) of the ones were just for getting stuff to sell for credits. Like just sit in one spot and take on waves of ships with an increased drop rate for 15 minutes.
The Foundry was horribly mismanaged even when it worked, and was taken down because they proved incapable of keeping it fixed.

The Foundry was a wonderful concept, but wildly overrated by nostalgic players. The map editor was very limited and extremely clunky, and the mission editor limited you to only very basic triggers of kill this thing, click this button or go to so-and-so location. You couldn't edit the enemies to provide any interesting combat tactics beyond default AI behavior. And of course you couldn't provide any interesting rewards for completing the mission.

The only way in which a Foundry mission could excel was with a better story than an official mission, but if you want storytelling there's massive amounts of free Star Trek fanfiction out there to download, and you can read it without the annoying dialogue boxes and with a much more versatile graphics engine called your imagination.

Sturgeon's Law: 90% of everything is crap.
I have been playing this game when it was in beta form. A lot has improved over the years and some have been a complete nose dive. Years ago the players in the game would help out junior players on how to run a mission or a TFO correctly to reap the most rewards. Those times are long gone. I only help people who really want the help. The foundry was a great tool to get some accolades completed and get away from the weird role players. Like it was said in a earlier post, the best way to get your idea across is by the official forums. I highly doubt the devs even see this forum at all. Get the attention of the new community manger and the devs. We have a new set of eyes on the game now with DECA running the bridge. Cryptic would have just ignored us and threw us a new lockbox with a handful of skittles.
