Also, my Linux installation of DirectX 12 is in its own isolated Wineprefix, as is my installation of DirectX 11. In Wine, you can create stand-alone prefixes that are independent of each other. Steam also does not utilise the OS installation of Wine, instead they use their own version of Wine and call it Proton.
However, I may totally uninstall Wine, and Steam, and try a totally clean installation and see if that makes a difference.
Glad I decided to try this first rather then totally uninstalling Wine, and Steam!!
