Is it any good .... oh the waisted years. The major difference between EVE and star trek online. star trek is a space drama and EVE is build game a time consumer. Star trek immediately sucks you in not so much strategy but heavy on the action: it requires quick thought our youll end up space dust.

This is not true. NOW you can play STO overdosed on Heroin while having a Stroke, and still do well. There are no challenges, there are no consequences. The fun wears off fairly fast after you've seen all the drama once.

Wether or not you will like it is more down to personal prferance so nobody can really answer that, what I can say is that this is a good MMO,

-True Free to play you can buy the real world Purchesable Curancy with in game money
- Ground Combat is a bit lacking (More the standard MMO spam attack/power keys till all enimes are dead type stuff), however Space combat is quite enjoyable and at times the good challanging as you must use tactics and skill often (though of course it is a MMO so some times can feel a bit clicky as well, but have yet to find that to be a issue with anyone)
- Daily Missions have massive amounts of veriance from plater crezted content to duty officer missions (they are the kind you give your staff missions and that take X time and you get rewards when complete)
- 3 factions with differing zones, missions, races, items, ships
- Lots of races to pick from that have diffrences that are lacking in alot of MMOs
- Has a Good Late game, (I have sunk about 600 hours into it...started playing about 3/4 months ago...I need a life...but have yet to finish all the story missions despite hitting the level cap about a month/2 ago) again lots for you to do
- Your ship/ Crew/ Bridge Officers/ Character Feel Unqiue and your own (even though they are very not...but the large veriance you will be unlikley to see someone that looks the same, removing that all to familier five warriors that have same gear standing about that alot of MMOs have)
- Player base is a bit more muture than alot of other games
- Prob more but I don't want to spend to much time hyping the game

The Bad,
- There are some long term bug issues, mostly minor in a one of crapy side mission of a grphical error that effects only a few people type stuff, that seemingly will never be fixed
- Again some missions can feel a little fill the gap or grindy (but it is a MMO...and you can skip missions)
- ...Hmm I acutally can't think of any more that are worth putting...Ultimatley no fees or anything I would recommend giveing it a try no loss if you don't like it

only 2 factions, romulans have to pick Starfleet or Klingon as an ally. KDF is still half as complete in regard to story and content as Starfleet.

that is true (I admitedly have spent little time as the other two) they still have serveral unique zones/ ships/ powers/ races etc, however content for them is admitadly far less than FEDS, I consider them as secondard factions, if you do join FED is best to sink your time into and have one of the others as a teriary account
