I dont understand these marks/reputation......

So, i hit 44, queued for the omega thing it told me too, won, and got Omega marks. Now, the npc says to go to reputations tab to spend my credits by doing research or something. but the absolute only thing on reputation screen is a mirror universe event. An event whos rewards are.... more marks.

So, how do i buy gear with these damn marks??? Can i at least look at gear to see what i may want?

You need to be lvl 50 to unlock the rest of the reputation tab, then you need to do projects that require marks and items to unlock tiers.

Their are 4 different reputation Dyson, Romulan, Nukara, and Omega which have their own gear and abilities/trait at different tiers (5 tier in each reputation).

out of the four the omega and nukara are the easiest, the romulan takes awhile do to pve matchs, and the dyson is not hard but takes a very long time to complete.

I believe the reputations dont actually appear until you reach lvl 50. Even then, you dont get to view the full stats on most items offered due to the cumbersome interface.

Only the 'Event' reputation opens up before 50. Once you reach the level cap, you'll get access to the rest of the (proper) Reputations and can start spending those marks and progressing through them.

well, that makes sense. Curious why they'd tell you all this stuff at 44, and point you at things that dont exist for you till 50.... thx all

There is a great reason behind it...It will take you grinding alot to get things....I DO MEAN AWHILE, so I hope you like grinding.... ^_^

Back before the Reputations existed the Borg STFs unlocked at level 45~. Elite versions(which dropped prototype equipment for Mk XII gear) didn't unlock until max level, but you could still earn the EDCs that were used to purchase borg Mk X an XI items before then.

It's just a remnant of an old system.

A remnant yes, but I'm glad you can still earn Omega marks before level 44. Red alerts with Borg also reward some marks. Considering how many you are gonna need, its a nice headstart you don't get with other reps.
