The Galaxy retrofit and Intreprid retrofit are your worst choice possible. They have the least amount of tactical consoles and BOFF seating and are too speclialized for you. If you do not want to waste these ships, I would suggest making some alternate characters with dedicated builds (engi for cruisers, sci for science vessels).
Exactly as Xeno said... Any sort of escort/destroyer will work well for Tac, however, if you want something a little more solid, the Assault Cruiser is indeed and excellent choice, if properly setup...
The Galaxy Dread, though lacking in Tactical Boff slots is indeed a fine choice also... I'm using it on a new level 50 Tac with all ground traits (except Accuracy) and have yet to score outside of the top 3 when doing the Elite Crystalline Entity encounter... The trick is to go with Engineering Boff abilities which complement a more offensive play style; such as Emergency Power to Weapons, Aux to Dampeners, Aceton Beam etc...
Which Battle Cruiser are you referring to? If you mean the Tal'Shiar Adapted Battle Cruiser, this is also a good choice for a Tactical character if setup correctly and the fact that it can have a Lt Cmdr Sci Boff is actually quite advantageous as Transfer Shield Strength 3 or Gravity Well 1 are both really good choices...
The Kumari is probably the most offensive ship you can get as a Federation character, but it also quite fragile as well. Otherwise, a case can be made for a lot of ships, it really depends on your playstyle and what you're after, specifically.
If you're looking to maximize your weapon damage type, go with either Disruptors, Plasma or Anti-Proton. The latter favors a high crit rate, while the first two are less dependent on crit.(Romulan Plasma come with a Disruptor proc, making them a fairly costly best of both worlds option.)
However, if you're simply looking for more damage, as a tactical captain, I'd suggest you look into improving/respeccing your attack patterns and learn what truly makes a Tactical Captain an offensive powerhouse. It's not neccesarily your ship or it's equipment, it's about maximizing your damage mulipliers through buffs and debuffs. Specifically, you're looking to boost your damage numbers through Attack Pattern Alpha(captain skill), Attack Pattern Omega, and Emergency Power to Weapons. Conversely, you're looking to reduce the resistance of your opponents through Fire on My Mark(captain skill), Attack Pattern Beta, and Tractor Beam(no movement = no defense value).
