lost characters/registered game/paid products after account merge
So i use to play back in 2012. I had registered the collectors edition and bought some other stuff with credits. Anyways I wanted to play again this past weekend only to find out that they login information is no longer accepted. I can login with my Cryptic info but then says I need Perfect World account and one is not linked to my account. Im pretty sure I did this a long time ago. So i contacted support they basically said they couldnt find my perfect world account and to make a new one. So I did. Now all my stuff is gone, Has no characters, no records of my registered game or anything I bought after that. I have contacted support again but no answer.

Has anyone had this issue before? How did you fix it?

i already did link them together. im pretty sure i did it back in 2012. and again now. support is unhelpful.

When did you create your original account? From what you have typed it seems it may have been after 1/1/2012 in which case you need your old account info as the following snippet from PWI demonstrates:

"NOTE: If you registered for a new account after January 1, 2012 you already have a Perfect World account! If you do not have a second, older Cryptic account, then no linking is required and you can use your account to play Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and Champions Online."

If you've lost the original login then you have lost the account. I am not aware of PWI/Cryptic deleting dormant accounts, but that could be another explanation.

EDIT: This also applies if you had already linked the accounts, if you lost the PWI login then you lost the whole account. Let this be a lesson to backup and record important stuff like this in the future.

It may not be a complete loss, assuming you used a real E-mail address and not some throwaway. When all else fails or is lost to time, the E-mail address you used is your last line of recovery. This is the link:

no i definitely have/had a cryptic account. and when i contacted support before i registered a new perfect world account they said they could find no account info for my email or user. they are the ones that told me to make a new PW account. when I try to login using my cryptic user it says please use PW account, as before it says I needed to link a PW account to it.

You have a Cryptic account. Then you made a PW account and linked that to your Cryptic account.

You've forgotten that PW account's credentials and when you contacted Support, they tell you to make a new PW account. You did and that's why you have nothing. The new account has inherited nothing from your Cryptic account.

Hopefully you used actual email addresses to create/register all the accounts. Verify that you have access to your Cryptic (you do, since you can log in/etc) and PW accounts. Login to the STO website with the PW accounts... one of them will show your redeemed keys (collector's edition/etc)... that's the one that's properly linked.

i only have 1 email address i would have used and i still use it. They have esculated it to next tier support whatever that is. They told me to be patient and gave no time table. I take it that they dont care after this has been over a week so more than likely ive played the last of STO or anything from perfect world. Shame.
