Yeah i got bored it happends.. :) what can we do about the human nature of boredem XD
So true, by the way I can stop laughing at those rich kids that spend so much money for buying all 3 variant of Cimetar ship, thinking that will turn them into some badass dreadgnout with high DPS and tanking capabilities and then, keeping exploding like noobs on the first tactical cube they meet in STF while I keep destroying those same Cube as it was frighters with my Risian Corvet (a racing little bonus free ship we had on summer event past two years) and of course tanking them so easily with all the def bonus I have =) Buying the best ship only because you eard/read it was the best of all (even when it's true) most of the time = being chain kill and then rage about "broken" or "unbalanced' stuff in the Zen Store. The funniest is during PvP Arena : Zen Ship = Main target. This is a game where your build is more important than anything else, if you choose the wrong ship for your build, your cursed, and double cursed if it's a zen Ship. =)
It just some people sees money gets things done quicker than those who grind..
That is just how I look at it, but I left the game due to getting bored with it so..
if you enjoy the game have fun.
I so used to play MMO RPGs when I started Everquest 2 without the item shop.. :)
So sometimes the Temptation is there and people end up spending money just to look cool...
So yeah this guy even beat me in grinding dill ...
he told me I buy it I don't even grind.. I was like O_O.....
So yeah temptation is their some people don't like to grind they take short cuts and spend money :/
Right now I play marvel heroes it is not so bad it don't lag I have no problems running it and the game is not so bad.. Compare to dill store being broken :/
So yeah enjoy your game ..
I checked this out for you.
Starfleet storyline has overall 101 missions, each taking about 30 mins.
You have to be extreme casual to spread 50h gameplay "for years".
Foundry - user generated content - was Cryptics solution for the lack of missions and content, It is old and very limited.
Can't argue about tastes. But most for the story of missions, I get the feeling it is written by some teenager for a 6 year old.
LOL, what a BS. may be your subjective impression.
Even more BS, no comment.
Typical advertisement exaggeration.
There is nothing living in this universe except exchange prices and other players.
Your actions and decisions have no impact on it at all, No changing borders, no changing worlds (maybe day/night at Risa), no economy fluctuation. A static universe.
The is not much exploration beside a handful space stations, worlds and battle zones. It lacks completely the famous Star Trek exploration. Last official forums poll showed, it is the most wished feature, that does not exist in STO.
I am used to read such an overstatement about this game only from cryptic employees and its marketing agents.
They even turned the Delta Rising fiasco into "the best expansion ever".
Lol at this. Again, I played since beta launch and never stop since then so I'm pretty aware of what i'm talking about but feel free to disagree and to just stop playing that game if you find it so dull and bad, there is plenty other games around.
If you want a SF/Spaceships game that feels like a MMORPG with tons of things to do and a real impact of your choices on the univers, you may try Elite : Dangerous (witch I also play since launch) of cours, if you just a whiner, you could find a lot to cry about this game too (ppl that love to speed run and grind find you've got to few influence on market and galactic powers IE (or sometimes, they belive you've got none at all) but that's because they 're kids and they want to be able to change an entier univers only by one little action, of cours, not this is a hardcore game so it may not suite your taste either.
Anyway, as stated before, games are made for fun, if you don't find STO fun, just quite and find anything else ;)
I, for myself, find STO pretty damn good with tons and tons of good content by dev or community (and I don't see that as a lake of official content but as a way to adding content by ourself, as devs keep adding their - cool - content every month, for free, and for everyone), I don't find any Zen ships so unbalanced or cheated (actually, I own a lot of them, as I explain before, without spending a single cents, but most of my toons keep using "standard" ships and they roxx - I PvP a lot in STO, I'm maybe the last guy that find arena fun every once and then, and I never use any Zen stuff in it, to much specifics I think -. So call BS what you want to, but from my point of view, the only BS around are your behaviour. Dude, you don't like the game, fine, you like to read people whinning on the off forum, fine (off forum are always only for whinner, in every MMORPG I know, and that makes a lot) but don't ignore the fact that there is a solide and growing community that actually enjoy this game a lot (and enjoyed Delta Rising a lot to) for a reason. Of cours, plenty of topic on off forum will announce the end of the game, the lake of player or the fail of that or this expension, but again, that's just the same in every other MMO, that existed since launch of game, and those guys are just kids (or adult acting as kids). Those guys are still the same, since the launch of the game, and they are still playing it, no matter how bad they say it is.
Forget it. I bought lifetime sub, because Cryptic makes similar false statements like you, which I wasn't aware at that time. And I doubt they refund me or I get it sold.
So I will stay for a looong time to refute you, Cryptic and fanboys.
This is a pretty bad comparison.
And were obviously not a child in 1988 because you were not even born in 1988, you were born after 1995 at least !
No i was not born after 1995 i was born in 1980..
And if you understand what i was talking about people always fighting what is better...
So you was not born were i was so how would you know..
People always spending money buying stuff what is better instead of just enjoying what you have.. ..
So i was not born after 1995 :) you dont know me rofl so stop being like you know what i am saying..
Let me know when you stop thinking when i was born because you clearly dont know much about me ^^
Also 8 years old is still a kid or child for that matter over here..
I dont know how it is were you from but over here that is how it is..
Also it happend to me when i was 6 growing up so yes i experinced that..
That is what i meant bye that so it is the same..
When people always have to buy something better then the other peron then rub it in there face when they have it and the other dont..
So how is that a bad what i am saying ?
My point is just enjoy what you have and dont worry about what other people spend there money on.
Rofl i cant belive you said i was born after 1995 do the math dude i am 35.
2015
-1980
35 Answer So around 1980 1990 i was still a child until i turned 16...
Laws very different here
I understood what you wrote there! But it has not much to do with a correct comparison to a game. There is a difference between things you pay for, are just looking BETTER or actually ARE better. And to compare shoes with ingame content where it is about things like hitpoints, damage and stuff, is a bit odd !
I am born in 92, and I must say, when I grew up, it was not much about who had something better, it started back in 2000 or 2001 when children became so extreme with all the " Oh I wear a better shoe, trousers or shirt brand than you ". I was never in to it, because I totally gave a ♥♥♥♥ who was wearing what brand. So maybe this is why I did not experience it this way. I am not a material person, an object is an object, doesn't matter how much it costs or what it does. A lamborghini car is not more a car than an old Lada Niva, both will get treaten the same by me. Same for every other objects, except there is an object which I got from a grandfather and is in my family's hands since generations, this is not just an object, this would also be history to me, and history is something which I treat more careful. But again, I would not care about the price. I would care the same for a 200 years old fancy suit, same as for a 200 years old watch.
I do not need to do maths, you need to do your " psychology homework ", I clearly said it because I would not believe you are this old, and I still don't. Which should not matter to you, since I am a random guy from the internet.
FACT: I still don't know about Star Trek is pay to win or not, because threads like this end always up like this.
Yeah but that is why people keep calling it pay to win because people always end up trying to compete with each other instead of having fun..
That is from my experince ..So instead of worrying about the other person just have fun.
So its kinda the same thing just different all worryed about stuff you cant even touch with your hands xD.
That is just what i experinced and they still do it today..
Not much changed
Same thing with ships or locked box ships i want that cool ship let me spend money on it..
Then they show it off sometimes rub it in your face look what cool ship i have..
My dps is better and i am better see what i mean
If this is what people call pay to win, then they use the wrong term in my eyes. Because to me, pay to win is if you pay and have a clear benefit TOWARDS other players, like a much better assault rifle, or a much better vessel.
World of Tanks is a good example, you don't really have a benefit when using real money. The tanks you can buy for gold are not much better than tanks you can also unlock, and the premium-ammo you can use, can also be unlocked by credits, which you can earn by just playing the game.
This for example would NOT be pay to win, but pay to be fast.
