Editing Saved Character?
I made a cool looking alien which I saved but hes a science officer but I want to use the same guy but as a engineer.
When I load the character it swaps to science again.
Is there a way to edit the saved character to engineer?
I cant really recreate it since it took me about and hour or 2 to make.

You can save his current outift at a tailor, make a new Alien character as an Engineer, and load the outfit onto the new character. Saved outfits save body and face proportions as well as clothes.

Dunno if you guys had your glasses on while reading this lol
But I clearly mentioned that its about the alien that I made that I want to reuse but as a different class.
I dont care about the outfit.
I do not want to spend another hour or so trying to recreate the character I made previously.

You can't change your career unfortunately. Once a character was created theres no way to change that.

Is there no way to extract the face information from the picture?
I mean if you save an outfit it saves the faces and the class and outfit.
But the savefile is just a picture showning only the chin and mouth and part of the upper outfit.
The information must be stored somewhere how the face should actually look like.
Or didn't anyway dabble into this before?
I doubt I am the only one seeing this.
Or maybe if I change the blue color to yellow in the picture with photoshop the game might think it's an engineering class rather than a science class?
There must be a way.

The outfit save option doesn't make sense to me anyway.
Why didnt they use a face save option for people who spend a lot of time creating a face.

What are you talking about? When I go and save my Vulcan Male outfit, when I load it onto any other Vulcan Male, be it another character or a BOFF, it takes all the perameters from the character I saved it on and basically turns the new Vulcan Male into the guy I made the outfit and perameters on.

Not really. In the moment a part of the outfit is not compatible with the actual class/race, it is not loaded. As simple as that.
It is cross class. I've loaded human outfits from old characters onto new BOFFs and other characters. It's not cross race though.

Nevermind man you lack reading comprehension...

I love the idea that by 'Sci' and 'Eng' you mean 'Blue' and 'Gold'.

But I lack reading comprehension, so never mind.

As admiral snAckbar stated, all parameters are copied, as long as it's the same gender.

So if you log into your alien captain, edit and save his outfit. Then create a new male character and load the previous outfit, the new character will basically become the guy you saved previously: including species and other physical parameters. It's been like that since day 1, unless they changed this recently... Incidentally, it's the same in champions online, which shares the same engine.

Edit. I believe this is a bug as it should only copy the outfit, but this is cryptic we're talking about :-/

Cryptic said eons ago that the "saved" outfits are only compatible with the same race you are trying to load into. You cant load an outfit from a romulan to a starfleet character, for example. I dont care, im just quoting what cryptic stated ages ago. But of course, knowing that everything in this game works half of how it is supossed to be, probably you are able to load outfits from other races into any race.
Yes, and this guy wants to load an Alien outfit onto an Alien. Same race, just different class, it can be done.

Ow well I was hoping there was an option to just simply save the alien face you customly created or anyway to dabble with the outfit file to make it so.
I guess I'll just have to try to recreate him sigh...

Also I have heard people saying you can choose the skills of the alien race but I haven't found out how yet.
Seen old videos of the game where it is indeed possible.
Did they delete this option?

Just save the outfit, make new character, load outfit at a tailor, and just change the uniform around after you've loaded the outfit if you only want the face.

Will try it out next time...
Already recreated it.

Had a similar problem in another game. I ended up taking screen shots of the slider bars and saving them as PDFs, then opening them again when creating another character to make his face and body the same. That what you're looking for? Cumbersome but effective. Hope it helps.
