I seem to have missed a load of missions?
Hi all.

Does anyone know if the order in which you play missions as the fed (prime universe) has been changed in the last couple of years? Bit of an odd question I know, but I ask because i've played STO on and off for years (a VERY casual player) and have recently started a new campaign after a long time out. Thing is, I seem to have arrived at the Romulan missions a lot sooner than previously.

I'm currently Commander, rank 24 and just completed 'the vault' mission. when I got my first Romulan mission I was a LT Commander and still in a Constitution class cruiser. Previously, I'm sure i was knocking around in a Galaxy class by that point or at least an Ambassador. I haven't played, for example, the temporal agent mission where you get said Ambassador class as a reward, nor have I done any of the Wasteland story arc, despite that mission specifically being mentioned by one of my bridge officers in one of the missions I have done (something like 'it matches the evidence we found in Installation 18').

Am I mission something? previously, these missions were simply handed to me as part of the story progression, do I have to go looking for them now, or has the story been reworked?

Sorry if this is obvious (remember, VERY casual player) and if the answer is already written somewhere, please feel free to point me that way.

Thanks!

Used to be the Klingon war arc was longer before it dropped into spectres and then the final part of the arc with the Gorn. Then you travelled up with some random nobody to starbase 31 where you started a long chain of boring Romulan quests which then followed to the Reman arc. After that it crossed over to the Cardassian Arc with the 2800 arc at the end.

The developers cut away alot of the pointless missions and glued a few bits here and there together into just a few missions instead. Klingon War, Romulan Mystery and Cardassian Struggle arcs were condensed, changed and made easier to understand. The reason becomes apparent when you view the storylines from the KDF, RR and Dominion side of those stories.

Hi Xautos. Ah ok I see, that makes sense. Yes i do remember some missions revolving around the Gorn too. Thank you for clarifying for me!

Various missions were pulled out of the quest list because they felt they didn't fit in the 'flow' but I'd say it happened more than 'a couple of years ago'. If you click on the Starfleet symbol up by the mini-map it'll open the panel where you can see the quest flow (episodes). You'd need to google removed sto quests to see the one's they pulled and you should find them in the listing of 'available missions' on that same panel you opened for the episodes.

As to level vs missions: With the exception of playing a Rom, you hit 'The Vault' about mid-20's on TOS, DISC & Klingon factions (Most likely prime Fed too now but I did it on mine a long time ago).

I know when I picked the game back up last year I was doing the Rom stuff on my Connie, which didn't fare well vs that Rom battlecruiser you meet for the first time.

used to be about some ancient empire they had where some people were kidnapped. and another about Gorn augments and a human scientist in the middle of it, it was a mini arc (about 2-3 mission). The Gorn arc is part of the Klingon war arc in the same way i consider the vault to Hakeev's end to be part of the Reman arc, and that is part of the overall Romulan arc.

Check Available tab next to the In Progress tab for some missing episodes. That is where the devs moved them awhile back. Look for Wasteland, Lost and Found, from main mission giver and Spectres from Neutral zone mission giver. You need to go backwards ASAP to do the Wasteland Nimbus missions. If you been gone a long time, you might have to look around for the starter NPCs for those.
