Edit: also, you'll occasionally see a Joker or a Supergirl out there but don't do it, you will get got as some tightazz or other will trouble ticket complain about you and then wham ban hamma tyme
It is true that you rarely see people wear them. And I have seen the battle armor and skimpy outfits, but mostly I see people wearing unique uniforms from Fleet unlocks or just other Starfleet regulation options, including the Antares, Sierra, and Jupiter sets. There's just a lot of choices.
how do you get banned for having an joker/supergirl outfit on your toon? last i checked their clothes doesn't violate the TOS/EULAs for STO...
I do actually like it since its one of the higher res outfits, but I use a dress variant which looks a bit fancier. Before unlocking it at a fleet, i used odyssey, though not with the default color scheme.
The issue now is they're the default uniform for the default faction, so anyone who wants to stand out chooses something else. Or you get the TOS or Discovery players who just never visit the Tailor. Or people who are bigger TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT fans than they are STO fans, and paid cash for their uniforms.
Personally, I still keep my Odyssey uniform saved in wardrobe and bring it out when I want to make a cinematic scene look more authentic, or on those increasingly rare occasions that I do any RP. But I don't wear it as my running around uniform. Even if it improved my immersion, that'd evaporate as soon as I saw another damn pair of Elachi follower spawns or flaming demon Targs or those damn Herald wizard staffs. The narrow, dark corridors of the current Event mission have really accentuated how obnoxious group ground combat has become. I don't suffer from epilepsy, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if this Event gave me a seizure before it's finished.
