Slow Patching Speeds

Hello and good evening to everyone. STO's patch servers seem to be really slow. I'm getting 1/15 of a megabyte every second. This is unacceptable for a game that needs constant patching. Is there a possible fix?

I was downloading a patch, it was at 57%, after FOUR HOURS, and my internet went out...

The best reason to bump this thread is because it's still a terrible problem. Please stop blaming end user network issues. I've just watched Fortnite update itself at 10 MB/s (yes Mega Bytes not bits) while STO sits there forever downloading updates at a pathetic rate. Seriously people, if this developer/publisher/whatever doesn't care a bit about it's end users, then why should they play the game?

Thats odd. I just downloaded the whole game in an hour or so. Granted i live in a big city.

dont worry your not the only 1 i download 100mbit anyhting on steam , currently im getting somewere like 5 mbit at cryptic.

i do think its on cryptic side, i have a 200Mbs connection (arround 25 MBS) and im getting sporadic speeds between 20 and 200 Mbs
i t hink the launcher downloads 1 file at a time, why cant they just put all files in a couple of comppresed files so we can download them faster, instead of 1 at a time

Huh? No it does not. My folder says 3346 files/98 folders and that's with a ton of screenshots, prepatch stuff and god knows what accumulated from 2014 since initial install.

Slow download speeds notwithstanding.

it download 168 giles and put them in hogg files
when i downloaded the game with lmauncher at the end it said 168k files

Ah, you mean the hogg contents, sounds like a right number haven't checked in a while. If it wasn't done like that we would have to download huge hogg files every time they make the tiniest change. Which is every week...

Whether that causes slowness, no idea. All I can say it generally isn't slow for me.
