Star Trek Online PATCHING Crashes my system

hey guys, i have been having trouble patching my Star Trek Online game through the launcher. i recently re-installed the game so i could play with some friends, but every time i try to patch, it crashes my entire system (bluescreen and restart included), and then i have to restart the patching again... anyone know of a way that i can successfully patch my game here?

i have already deleted the Gameprefs.Pref file from STO through the commons folder, but i dont know what else to do from there... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bluescreen from just patching might be a more serious issue. Does the bluescreen have additional info (error message, possible file/service noted)?

Otherwise stable system?

Yes, that is very worrysome. Check your windows system log file.

Is your computer specs within the STO recommended specs guide? Sounds like you have some serious defects with your computer that you need to find and fix. check your event viewer.

i would say so. after deleting the Gameprefs.Pref file and patching in SafeMode, the game works fine :)

Where is that file?? I'm having a similar problem...It worked fine until the last patch then it crashes on load and throws me to desk top.

This is what I am having as well, redownloading the whole 17GB game didnt help me either. Why do they have to do this crap during a mirror invasion event.

Up until 2 weeks ago I had 0 problems with this game but this issue is the same one I had a couple of weeks ago, forward 2 weeks with a new content patch and im having to do it again.
