Buying zen from steam in-game dosnt work?

I have been trying to buy zen in-game from steam and it just isn't doing anything!

I try to *buy Zen*

and it just says "waiting for steam to reply...."

...and then just hangs there for 10 minutes or more doing nothing, then eventually says that I have cancelled my purchase; presumably becasue there is no answer from steam and so the whole thing just times out!.

Anyione else haiving this probem...? Is there a solution....? Does this facility actually just NOT work....?

I used it to buy 5 bucks worth of zen from my steam wallet 2 or 3 days ago, so it did work at some point.
Maybe the steam server just has a bad day?

Does Steam overlay work when you're in-game? Pressing shift+tab should bring it up if it's not disabled.

Normally it dosen't ( for me at least) but when I first go into big picture mode an then start the game from there it magically works again.
Which wasn't the case I successfully purchased some zen.

Yeah i was thinking if it doesn't work for OP then that could be the problem because then the Steam's confirmation dialog won't show up. I had the same problem long ago and for me the fix was to start the game in minimal graphics settings.

But if the overlay does work then you're probably right with the problem being a server issue.

For a start I didn't realise I was supposed to bring up the steam overlay to confirm the purchase, secondly the steam overlay just dosnt work if I press shift+tab, it just slows the game down to a stutter...and then crashes it!

However....I have discovered that buying zen directly from the arc site is quite a bit cheaper anyway!

From Arc it costs £7-99 to buy 1,200 zen, but on steam it costs £9-00 for 1,000 zen. So I know what I'm doing from now on ;) Serves steam right for being so CRAP as far as I'm concerned!

Can Anyone also explain to me why steam dosn't close the game properly either?

When I exit/log out, steam says the game is still running and I can't exit steam! I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and manually stop steam from windows task manager to actually quit out of it.

Did a little comparison here, the results are quite surprising.

steam:
4,50€ => 500 zen (111,111111... zen/€)

arc:
9,99€ => 1100 zen (111,111111... zen/€)
19,99€ => 2200 zen (110,0550 zen/€, from here on onward it stays at 110,0....)

Basically on higher sums the ratio get sligtly worse and you'd have a couple more zen if you stacked a bunch of the low orders. What a coincidence that they removed the 500 zen option from arc a while ago......
Might be different when there are these extra bonus zen events though.
