Cryptic launcher autoupdate won't download

Does anyone ese have trouble with Cryptic launcher autopdate? It is almost standing still with measly 118.8 md of data to download. I would apreciate any tips

Mhm.. yeah partially right. I was away maybe 2 Weeks. And i can't DL the Cryptic autopatcher either.

Finally i got it to work again. I ended up installing directx from the sto folder like D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Trek Online\_CommonRedist. After that the download went through. Could be complete luck but maybe it helps.

That is true. I am one returning. I guess regulars don't have this issue.

as of yesterday it works now. The autoupdater connects and downloads really fast.

Yea no, it didnt fix anything... this is also a problem for CRYPTIC and the dev staff and not 3rd or 4th rated people on the internet. I currently sit on the very same problem, neither steam NOR the ARC forum has any semblence of a solution AT ALL of it.

AT CURRENT the problem fixes itself with time, wich is not what would be intended or anything. Same as it ALWAY'S did (this isnt the first time this happened...). EITHER this is a way to sort out those without premium membership (i doubt it, but who knows how greedy them dev's realy are), OR it realy has something to do with modern network speed's being waaaay above what the ARC launcher itself can handle. 32 MB/S speed seems to be to much for it to handle. I heard from people solving the entire autopatcher ♥♥♥♥ by using their mobile as connection tool for their PC so the speed is like 2 mb/s at most again. True or not, this is a problem that was there since F2P launch (as it NEVER had problems prior to that day)






(oh, btw. valve gives way to the very same launcher that you would use otherwise, so why did you cry about Hellfail again? WHEN THIS HERE VERY MMO DOES THE VERY SAME?)

all of my profiles runs perfectly and only 2 of them have lifetime subscriptions. the game works for most people. there is therefore an issue on your end.

As soon as I read your report, I went and reinstalled game and it worked flawlessly. Aparently that update you were talking about did fix at least something. To note, after whole deal i did contact my ISP support aswell and they resetted whole connection chain and it did drop my ping at about 50% more or less but that did not help with cryptic (as expected). So if you have high ping issues in general, that might help for you too.

couple patches ago the autoupdater used BITS TO update the launcher, i had to set BITS TO A certain level, apparently setting no limit doesnt let it use a lot of bandwidth-still took hours but at least it didnt autobreak every hour

Hab das Problem auch und so dumm es klingt liegt es echt am zu schnellen internet 2h lang hat der Autoupdater immer wieder von vorn begonnen. kurz handy hotspot an und zack autoupdater ist in 15 sec fertig gewesen.
sobald launch updater dann fertig ist und der launcher offen könnt ihr wieder auf normales internet wechseln

Or in english its true the issue is the Internet Speed just connect over a slower Connection like an Handy Hotspot and the Autoupdater works as soon Launcher is open u can switch to ur fast Internet

i have the same problem but in my case is it,it downloads to zero and after them nothing happens and it begins from the start

i repeat, look up how to set BITS speed . it does the same thing, apparently zero doesnt mean unlimited dl rate. youll need to go into some fairly specific rabbit hole though.
google "windows setting BITS speed" i dont wanna get reported for posting links

I tried all of the tips i found online and nothing worked.
I even tried to limit my rate by downloading via hotspot on mobile phone but that also didnt help.
idk what to do anymore ....

Same here mobile hotspot didn't do anything I downloaded Arc launcher I hope but that doesn't work since I can't figure out which application the Arc Launcher is. Also I can't log in since apparently my password is wrong which it can't be I am 100% sure and I can't use the steam log in which I used previously when I try to sign up the email is already in use. so I try to reset my password and then there is no account linked to the email
