Display armor/kit

When I used to play this your armor and kit was visible on your character, now I can't seem to figure out how to get them visible anymore. Has it been removed in some patch, or am I just missing something?

an armor or kit is only visible if you create a costume at the tailor now.

All of the parts are in the tailor now. So you can use any visuals no matter what kit you have, and they can even be used on Boffs now!

I can't find anything like that in the tailor, is there some sort of level, subscription or quest requirement or something?

No, you just pick the parts for the basic armour visuals where you usually do for costumes, kit parts unlock as you level and you can add them to a character costume the same way. There aren't any requirements I'm aware of, I started new Federation and Nausicaan (KDF) characters last week and they had the option first time I could visit the tailor.

Reputation armour sets such as MACO and Honor Guard are selected from the head slot (like off-duty etc), or as costume parts if you run the costume unlock tier 5 reputation project (so you can have you and your bridge crew all wearing that design if you wish, regardless of the actual armour worn).

How do you get cosmetic armor (including helmets) do you buy them or find them?

Grind from Reputations.

As you level you will see more options at the taylor. Your new toons wont see anything but the basic costumes.

I have the MACO Armor unlocked and still for the life of me can't find it in the tailor screen. I also don't see a rep project to unlock the visual.
