Why is their no character class reset? I would love to be able to swap a character's class, such as a science to either a engineer or tactical and vice versa

There isn't one because... the programmers never built it, and when asked, have insisted it's so tied to so many different things that it's potentially game breaking to mess with it.

Well the whole game is geared for playing alts; different intro story lines, different recruit events etc..., so that feeds into the different classes so I guess they thought no need for characters to be able to change, just run an alt.

because you can create multiple characters. If you make a tactical, but want a science, then you can make a science too. There is no NEED to change your character class.
