I'd say the biggest factor at this point is how old the game is vs how much longer you think it'll stay running so you can work out if you'll hit the break even point on your money outlay.
So 500 zen is worth X amount divided by the LT sub cost = how many months you need to play to recoup the LT sub cost.
Toss in what you want to buy out of the zen store and would it be cheaper to do a single zen buy or go for the monthly stipend.
Just to clarify here - you actually don't even have to log in to get that; the zen stipend is automatic. There have been cases where old players returned after not playing from years and had 30K or more in zen stipend waiting for them.
It will take you about 18 months to get the 150 back in zen if you bought it on sale. Ive had it for just about a decade so its in my favor. I use it to solve hitches in the games get along be it keys or dil.
The game is near a end point. So spending the 150 would not change the situation in your favor. Its gambling at this point in time. I spent the money long ago when the game was relatively young and packed with people and the zen had value back then. IF I did nothing with the 500 zen for 6 months then thats a T6 ship to pick for free at this point with 3000 zen. Or 30 dollars in value.
Hint, during the absolute height of the Civil Rights Movement in the late 1960s - around the time that leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. were being murdered - they had multiple episodes that telegraphed racial equality and the first on-air interracial kiss. Discussing these kinds of issues continued into the 1980s and 90s series as well.
Also, one of the original Star Trek writers, David Gerrold ("The Trouble With Tribbles"), considers himself a "Social Justice Monster" because of people who seems to think that "social justice" is a bad thing.
To the OP I would recommend waiting until it is at a 50% off sale. To me it is barely worth that much. They just did one recently and it was such a short time frame it was stupid. The morons in charge of marketing thought it was a good and brilliant idea to do it in the middle of the month when most people are broke and only do it for a few days. lol Sufficed to say it has made me rethink my position on purchasing one because I am not entirely sure I want to support idiots. lol Hope this helps some and good luck mate.
Kirk was not Christian but got all the women. He worked really hard living in a camper truck in those days on very little money according to his autobiography. In the end He was able to introduce his love of Horses into Trek when he met Picard on his personal horse in one of the movies which worked to perfection.
The Klingon Race in Trek was a stand in for the Soviet Union in those days where some episodes had nuclear or atomic weapons rather going off near the Enterprise and involving time travel, invading a SAC Military Base and so on. (SAC = Strategic Military Command a hyper powerful Military Nuclear War Organization on a hyper sensitive trigger that could end the world in less than 30 minutes.)
Theres a awful lot to Trek and the other Space Race Age stuff in those days of the 60's and 70's with Star Wars being the first Movie Space thing to merchandise toys, shirts and other things, some of which are worth millions today. We did a lot of Trek Conventions in our time and met in person with the original Cast in due time. They wont remember us individually from the tens of thousands of us present in those places. When you walk out onto stage and meet 5000 people at once with motivation and energy its a lot of fun. You were there.
Now we can talk to ten times that many people in a day if not more online. Which takes away a little something from meeting people in person. Which sometimes is not as fun.
In the end Trek on TV got away with it because a pair of people in powerful TV Production willed it (LIterally a will...) to be so into American TV Production because the broadcasters had written it off as a one off crackpot show that no one would care for. What they did not realize then was we are going close to 60 years of Trek at this point in things that they could never dream of or imagine in their time. So they were already dinosaurs.
We are launching rockets every few days now and Mars in a few years as well as the Moon and other planets like Europa and so on. Those people who go out into space are not coming back ever. They will live or die while their children grow up into worlds we will not know anything about. They will not live under our system of Government, Laws or any of that mess. They may be truly free in due time or die off until we break light speed and invent engines able to go places in space much faster than several lifetimes to get anywhere. Its alot of fun.
i play it often but i don't have that kind of money.
I do have the money, and spending 150-200 coins doesn't quite hurt especially on black friday. The thing is: I love playing guitar hero but my hand becomes sore after 2 hours, so if I want to take a brake i was thinking of playing star trek online on occasion.
And if I don't have to log in it's even better. 1x T6 ship is around 3000 zen. It's not that bad. that's 6 months to wait for a advanced ship. I'm gonna look it up if it's true.
If you're not totally picky about what T6 ship you get, just look for give aways like the one going on now just by logging in and claiming it via the zen store.
I've got 12? T6 ships and all were free via contests and give aways, plus 5 T5 & a couple T6 100% off tokens. Also if you're into festivals (I'm not and have never done any) you can get T6's from those.
The player numbers for steam have been showing a slow, but steady decline of players. With arc, epic, and standalone launchers it is difficult to say what the actual population looks like. But it is getting worse.
We also had a new content drop get delayed into next year, and no major changes have been made to the game in several years in terms of mechanics or gameplay.
My point being, I am not 100% confident that you will get the full value of a LTS to where you make your money back through stipends. But players with it are still finding value in it these days and it isn't likely the game will die in the immediate future.
Just say you hate gay people, are right wing capitalist wannabe, its faster. Also Star trek is about communists that unite the galaxy, there are aliens all over. Just because your social norms aren't represented means jack nothing. You are apart of the generation that covered the planet in lead arent you?
They even made a race specifically for you, Ferengi they force their women to be naked, are ultra capitalist right wing people. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i forgot you cant connect with them cause they are brown.
Speaking of I just got done watching generations episode 4, where was your out rage then? They literally make fun of capitalists, as weak minded barbarians that do nothing but lie cheat and steal. OOO did you think because the captain was a white male you were like he is? You are closer to the Ferengi by far than the federation.
I mean they even added in the words capitalist, and Yankee for you haha. As a right wing capitalist wannabe that you are I am honestly surprised you even like star trek at all, you hate communists.
Cant forget star trek Enterprise shows basically a trans person and how they were treated like slaves, and Trip tries to show them they are worthy of rights, and they end up committing suicide.
