Patching taking forever
Hello i'm sure this has been talked about before but well I wish I was able to play the game but the patching takes forever. I used to operate the game using my old gaming laptop but said laptop stopped working back on the 24th of September after serving me 5 years and I decided to upgrade to a Gaming PC, this meant I had to download the game all over again which I didn't mind whatsoever, turns out the patching takes a long time and not only that but progress doesn't seem to be saved which sucks cause I cant leave my PC running for 3 - 4 days for the game to finish patching. for context I started doing the patch at 7 AM Thursday and stopped at around 2:30 AM Friday and it the end I only had around 24% -27% done, now as mentioned before the game doesn't save where you left off at meaning when I closed the app cause I had to turn my PC off all that progress was lost, is there anything I could possibly do to either make it patch quicker and or save my progress, I'm confused cause other games I have downloaded didn't take this long and where rather large games such as Fallout 4 and 76, War Thunder among others yet Star Trek Online takes forever to finish patching, thanks to who ever can help with this problem cause I really do want to get back to playing the game with my friends.

STO's launcher is weird when it comes to download progress. It won't save the progress percentage of your download, but you'll still retain all files you've downloaded, and the launcher will recognize that and only download the files you still need.

Outside of that, are you on a wired connection or wifi, and what's your internet speed?

You can tether your cell phone to the laptop USB.

ZOOM patched.

This is for those on unlimited data. Not for those who have to pay for lots of data. Not responsible if you ran up charges doing this.

I'm using wired connection since its faster and more stable than WiFi, as for my internet speed its 402.66 Mbps for download and 28.15 Mbps for upload. So to some degree it does save the progress, so while it looks like its starting all over again it isn't?

Yes. If you download 5 gigabytes of a total download of 20 (example numbers), then it'll still have the 5 gigabytes, and only download 15. It'll still visually restart at 0 though.

Maybe try running a traceroute? Someone on here might know the correct address to the patchserver.

Probably a stupid question, but are you using a VPN?

you might wanna regularly login during patch days and or set the launcher to only download needed files at first if your only running events
