Stuck on tutorial ...
Nice Game, I'm stuck in the first mission. after you pick up the gun in the cabinet. Prevent new players to get into the game is really very important for the devs! I can not imagine the state of the game if you do not already go little further than the tutorial. I create two characters and I had the same problems with both. I'll go my way. Too bad for Star Trek Online! Except if someone has a solution

I think the tutorial has the most elements so it might be a little laggy but i don't think its really possible to get stuck there... also you have no clue what you're actually missing :steamsalty:

i have uninstall the game. I currently watch the show and I wanted to test the game. That seems to have a good immersion. But not being able to finish the tutorial, simply prevented from play, it's disappointing. And as I said in my first post. There have bugs in a mmorpg, this is normal, but a bug that prevents new players. existing for a long time and not correct. It shows disinterest devs for their game.

If you change you instance, it resets the tutorial to the spawn point. Retrace your steps back to the armory and it will trigger the event where the security forces and klingons enter the hallway. Sometimes it takes several times changing instance, but worked the first time for me.

Stuck in Tutorial problem

Make sure you are following the quest tasker directions and check the mini map and map for a circle that shows where you got to go. You have to get close to objectives to get the Interact button you see on your screen, then you can click " F" key or click button with mouse.
Read the mission details and the tasker for directions and important information that you might be missing. Check the STO forum and wiki and google for a walkthrough of that mission to determine if you are not doing the mission correctly.

There are serveral bugs that occur with the tutorial missions that happen sometimes where the programmed events don't happen or are missed by your game client. You could try just quiting STO program and relogin to that character, maybe that will clear the problem but might not work.
You might have to quit and reroll a character to get passed the bug condition in the tutorial mission. If you have a bio that you want to keep in a character that you have to reroll then highlight it, Copy and paste it in a text doc on your computer, and while on that character type in chat "/gensendmessage tailor_root show" and save the outfit.. once you done that, Kill the faulty alt and make a new one.

Don't spend a Long time in the character creator, designing your character and writting your bio. Once you get out of tutorial, you can tailor your character and write your bio you had in mind.

If you are in any instance mission and think you have a Bug stopping you from completing that mission, try the following tips:

1. Read the mission details and the tasker for directions and important information that you might be missing. Check the STO forum and wiki and google for a walkthrough of that mission to determine if you are not doing the mission correctly.
2. Beam out of mission, then continue the mission at the place you come back to.
3. Beam out of mission, Drop that mission, pick that mission and try again.
4. Beam out of the mission, log off of STO then log back into STO, then continue that mission. Maybe also try rebooting computer and router at this point. Many problems like this with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers. Check and troubleshoot your network connection to the game servers.
5. Beam out of mission, Skip that mission if it is in a chain. Check the bug forum and google for a workaround or if it is known bug. Report the problem in a bug report? Try that mission again in a month or two.

I also had problems when I was doing the tutorial a while ago. I was finally able to get the tutorial to work thanks to reading discussions and watching a youtube video to make sure I was doing everything right. Bugs are annoying, but not that hard to get around. I was simply happy that I wasn't the only one having issues...
http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/comment/12797669 < I skimmed through this discussion thread and was able to figure out what to do (when in doubt, just exit out of the game and restart).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_t6VntMeQ9s&feature=youtu.be < This was the youtube video I watched. Just skip through to where you need to watch and you should be good to go!
I hope some of this is helpful... Enjoy!:steamhappy:

The tutorial is bugged, since time ago. It doesnt bug for everyone but a lot of new players are getting stuck since, i would say before the winter event. Its not a question of lag (lag has nothing to do and its a completely different thing).
It sounds to me like you are talking about the transporter pad bug, where transporting back to the Academy before talking to the Admiral would permanently lock you at the Academy. This was addressed a while ago and is no longer a problem.

I understand your point and everything, and yes I agree you shouldn't have to do that all the time. I just thought I'd put the information out there so people had it. I personally like to solve the problems rather than just quiting the game all together. I've had no other problems with the tutorials except for the first one, and I love the game. Anywho, happy steaming!

I solved this by checking my items and finding the rifle there. Even though I was not able to pick up the rifle from the cabinet, it was in my items area. Once I equipped it I was able to finish the tutorial.

Very, very disappointing...I'm also stuck in the armory, with the rife equipped though it tells me it isn't. If anyone thinks I'd put a dime into a game that bugs out this soon, dey be crazy! But I guess I got what I paid for. What a waste of time - going back to Fallout 76. At least I can play that bug-fest.

First mission is a bit icky. I suggest logging out, exit game, restart and that mission should continue from a reasonable point. I'm a new player and it also didn't work for me first time round "first mission is bugged wtf?", I uninstalled the whole thing dissatisfied but for whatever reason (watching TNG I think) I came back a day or two later determined to get past that bug, it seemed to load fine and I got through it, and haven't looked back since.

One suggestion when restarting/reloading is go immediately to your key binds (press Esc, then Options, then Key Binds) and be aware that there are 2 modes, RPG Mode and Shooter Mode. But set them both for "Ground" areas so its more streamlined for you and for that first mission it may help.

Agree, the one place you don't want a bug is the first mission of a game that's a tutorial mission of all things... but honestly have not encountered any other gameplay bugs since then. The learning curve in the first few hours is quite steep, but once you're passed it, there's a lot to do and enjoy. Not spent a penny myself, very happy with what I've got for a "free game" mode.
