Ship Customization Complete Overhaul

One of the top favorite things all Lifetimers and players love to spend time on is customizing their ships.
Currently it can take up to 4 tries to boot into the Ship Customization officer to get to the actual ship you are running, due to a host of 14+ year old bugs NEVER addressed.

However when you do get in a majority of the few options available since last decade are Textures 1 - 6, Upgrade, and Fleet. All pretty much fetid dog butt leakage for quality.
Not even subpar textures for last decade. Be honest fanboys, they suck.

Well, you finally get the texture that does not scream Atari 2600, but now you are stuck with a purple or yellow deflector or Buzzard collectors' the color of melted crayons...
Many textures you literally paid for are not even available for all ships.
This is known as unacceptable, poor and deficient quality in all other MMO's.
Dear Devs,
Us Investors would like to see the following features added, and or repaired finally:

* Better TEXTURES befitting the 20th to 21st century modern PC game.
* Higher res versions of all or complete replacements of the garbage 1-6, upgrade & stupid Fleet textures. Especially since 'Fleet' is no longer anything used...
* The 14+ year old BUGS & Defects finally repaired
* Warp Nacelle, Deflector, Impulse and other related COLORS/Styles and Textures INDEPENDENT of whatever choice they are currently glued hard to.
* Body Textures INDEPENDENT of other choices like Lifeboats etc..
* MORE SEPARATE Texture Options
* A Color Pallet greater than a Nintendo gameboy
* BETTER WINDOW TEXTURES
* REAL NICE Hull Textures that are not embarrassing to be seen in
* MORE OPTIONS
* Rendering at least raised up to 2014 standards, or above...
* SAVES & Loads that actually work and are not erased with every update
* SIZABLE options for things like nacelles, pods, hulls, necks
* MORE choices for pods
* Make Ship Customization the STRONGEST part of STO, not the WEAKEST that it is.

Other games and MMOs have LONG AGO offered far superior customization options than those found in STO. Ship Customization Options were old, incomplete and broken for last decade's acceptable norms.

With this quarters latest buyout/takeover, let's see some IMPROVEMENTS, REPAIRS and literal upgrades to this portion of the game for the first time in its surprisingly lengthy history. We fans are pretty worn out on providing PITY purchases just to keep the broken wheels on this dead horse trolly.

STO, you have STAGNATE down pat better than ANY OTHER MMO out there.
How about at least attempt for better, or at least work towards this DECADE's level of quality in character customization already long offered literally everywhere else.

Nah, I sure hope not. I'd hate to have to spend real money on an above average gaming system just to grind out my dailies. Don't get me wrong, when they upgraded the lighting and effects some years back I enjoyed it for a good half hour, maybe even 45 minutes before I went into my options and turned all that stuff off. Great looking stuff looks really great for sure; kinda like a fancy meal with a duration of appreciation for a games presentation 100 times that appreciation you hold for a meal expressing such vision and effort.

Maybe 30 seconds you'll have the dishes presentation on your mind as you enjoy it while maybe 3 minutes you'll marvel at the new textures rezzing so beautifully; either work of art though, by a half hour it's nothing you really consider that significantly anymore. There are enough perma-glitches and features we've lost to the temperamental spaghettiware I fear for what gets glitched gone for good for some new maps and skins on these crusty ol' skeletons. I lament those quality of life features that couldn't get fixed anymore following the last beautification overhaul and I'd really prefer to have my lost hud options still around than the lighting. blooms and splosions I don't run that displaced them. Nah, I sure do hope not. Jolan Tru.

Just to correct you here: unless you own stock in the company, you're not an "investor". The Lifetime Subscription is just a glorified purchase bundle.

Also... some in-game textures and other graphics get automatically substituted with lower-quality versions depending on your own system's graphics settings. When I got a new machine a couple years ago and was able to set the graphics settings higher, the game felt REMARKABLY different... and yet nothing had changed server-side, just my own graphics settings.

Its probably not trekish enough to allow really vivid and wild paint jobs but for me its just that the colors are too subdued coupled with a highly reflective property that makes them less than colorful in most lighting and the colors change a lot in colored lighting. I rarely bother with colors and textures because of it, the only things that seem to make much difference are the piece swaps and the lighting (on some models, even that is minor on other models).

Its yet another thing that I would probably have argued for long ago but now ... unless they do a total graphics overhaul I prefer any kind of content to lipstick on a pig.

I'll just say here that, there was a post in this thread that was removed, that was an attack similar to those, directed at the first reply which as you can see says next to nothing to trigger anyone.

OP invited a scrap and I know I for one felt my sphincter tighten having gone through enough cures worse than the disease with Cryptic to come out swinging on his gripe; I just didn't see him step outside of the Marquess of Queensberry's with his counterpunching here far enough to warrant a ban and figured he must also be venting his spleen in some other game's discussions where he had gone and pulled banhammer aggro.

Anyone who is lifetime has invested much money and does have a vested interest in this game. Hence the correct term as investor chosen over merely player.
Anyone looking to understand the communication sees that, those looking to pick and correct never get a point. Only what they want, which is to nitpick.

I am invested in STO.
I expect better than the vendor garbage shucked out the last 5 months.

The Ship customization has the same bugs since rollout last decade. And tons more added. The same junk textures. The same limitations. It has almost never been improved save for backgrounds. For 14 friggen years. That is abysmal. It looks abysmal.

STO Ship customization is flawed to the hilt and devoid of options and the better quality all other MMO's that I play readily offer.
It may be good enough for some of you. Not me. It could be better, SHOULD be better after all these years and I am posting that I want it better.

The thread is all about that.
Not about garbage looking for a fight that runs to the admin when stood up to, to ban the victim by anti-straight or anti-conservative intolerant bullying.

Those that did this, did not practice the tolerance they demand for themselves.
