And your personal opinion means absolutely nothing. As long as people buy it, they will continue to sell things like this.
The bundle ain't worth the price but the fact that the ships are sold individually at least makes it possible to do so.
maybe discuss the rest. like is the starting 25% cost reduction worth it=?
and rightly so due to its insanely 'Brandon level' of mismanagement, development, teasing and release. Literally the worst of all anni bundles releases to date.
Yes, they still refuse to fix any of the hundreds of game wrecking and CTD bugs.
Yes, for the stupid, ALL BUGS MATTER when they are so bad people ragequit quite often.
Yes, they could care less.
Yes, they will not sell 14th anni very well and may have to lay off more talent-less talent.
Yes, that would make me happy. So would pulling the plug entirely.
Yes, many in these forums have no value and will never be missed in life by any.
Yes, this was a FUN little thread.
Yes, and a very true thread.
Yes, Regardless of what anyone says, seeing as most people are simply clueless on most all matters, and live their small lives only reacting poorly to stimuli; I am correct regardless of their poorly expressed opinions and snark here.
Having stated the obvious, and sticking it to corporate STO where they deserve worse, and where others have no backbone themselves to do so due to a lack of testosterone and consuming far too much Soy; let alone the common sense to support those with the guts to do so; and after making sure that all concerned mean nothing at all in any big or little picture, to anyone, anywhere; this hero exists, stage right.☺
This post just won the internet.
13,000 zen is £80, which is ridiculous to be dropping on an f2p game IMHO full stop. But it does seem like the average player is happy to drop such amounts on STO ~ a lot more so in recent years than when this nonsense first started.
It's the horse armour all over again really.
Anyway, that 'crap' bundle will still sell like hot cakes, and it will be worth it for the devs because come on, slapping together a few ships and art assets for £80 is easy money when suckers buy it, considering you could be dropping that amount on 2+ brand new games, or getting an entire library worth of mid-older games at that price point.
That being said, ill probably use my recent t6 token for the Atlantis, and get the Chekov as well since they both look like the kind of ships I tend to fly.
Hopefully they do a bundle sale or something at the same time and I can instead buy the Leg Warbird bundle ive been eyeing, and use the free t6 token from that for the Chekov. Meaning i can use my zen on good stuff and not give Cryptic any deceptive metric on the 14th anni bundle.
... but yeah no Freedom class, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, bet it becomes a promo or lock box ship... since Cryptics gonna Cryptic.
Please.
Spending a hundred quid on a game once a year hardly qualifies you as a whale. You don’t want (or can’t afford) to do it and that’s fine but it’s not like you can only purchase this if you have thousands of dollars to waste every month.
I do not go to movies or sport events, I do not have a car, or a bike, or a dog or a hundred other sources of expenses that people usually have.
A lot, a lot, of people go to Starbucks regularly and that’s by far a more expensive habit than spending a hundred dollar on a game once a year.
Aside from the obvious argument that without the whales this game (and many others) would have died years ago and so we really should be grateful to those that keep the game working, we’re talking about people spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars every month.
To each their own I suppose but this bundle is hardly targeted towards the whales.
I do think this year's Anniversary Bundle is really weak, though they seem to be experimenting with weaker and weaker bundles every year since they began it with the 10th Anniversary Bundle, which was fantastic. Additionally they seem to be experimenting with progressively lower discounts.
It is quite disappointing since things have seemed less flimsy and gougy since DECA got involved: we had better anniversary giveaways (a free T6 coupon was a huge improvement over previous years), a better mudds bundle (both of the MW FDCs was something nobody would ever have expected), and this year's campaign giving all three prizes instead of a choice of one.
Stats on the 4 new ships are not wonderful, and none of the traits seem to be of the "must have" variety, which is a difference from previous years. The bonus lockbox ship is forgettable, and the extra existing T6 is just as dull.
Most likely people will treat it as though it was one of the old C-Store releases, since the new ships can be purchased individually. I don't see the bundle being a popular purchase with anyone.
The traits... seems to be a marketing strategy lately -- to provide reskinned & bland ships to sell traits & consoles & upgrade X2 tokens.
The bundle sci ship doesn't even seat many sci abilities: 6 seats is just bad; I carry 4 anomalies, sometimes 5, and another 3-4 abilities to trigger explosions off them. It doesn't flank. Its confused layout offers an extra gun and tac seating but its not a good tac ship either -- and its just unpossible to slot both gun damage consoles AND enough epg to do anything; its not like you can get a phaser console the rerolls [epg] on it to do both.
But you buy it to get the trait? +30 to +75 EPG based on current Critical Severity (unrestricted) is like having 2 more EPG consoles if you get 75 and 1 more if you get 40-50 average rating (at that point, maybe not such a good trait? If not maxed out, is it worth slotting?). Regardless, the trait is the only thing it has going for it. It might be tempting to grab that exotic damage experimental weapon... alas, the hybrid tac/sci ride doesn't have a slot for it!
Once again we have a (yet another fed ship) t6 science ship that is notably underpowered compared to the cheap tier 5 lukari off the exchange. That alone makes me want to put my hand on my wallet and avoid paying for anything.
