Don't forget artillery... lots of artillery.
espc since i was one of those for 5-7 yrs-its literally something ppl have to walk you through as the cheapest yet not the fastest f2p build.
gettting them to grind b tran tll they crit 3 times can be annoying espc on several different factions
nvm the fact that the upgrade system requires you to start rolling mk I or II items preferably just to have a chance to cheaply reach ultra and then epic, making ppl wonder why those are so expensive on exchange.
yea make cap congregate all the guides into a superguide somewhere and change it according to nerfs
While yes, I do enjoy dealing with builds, etc.... I deliberately don't post full builds of my own, because of exactly the issue Nikto brings up... if someone builds an exact copy of someone else's build, one nerf could "break" it and they won't understand what the problem is in order to fix it... or perhaps something better comes out but they don't know what piece can be safely removed to make room for it.
In other words - I'm strongly opposed to "cookie cutter" builds. This is why my two shipbuilding guides stick mainly to general ideas - heck, the specific guide I did for the Galaxy Retrofit doesn't even assume a particular energy type, just everything else. I much prefer if people actually understand what they're putting together and how it works, so that they can tweek it when needed.
But also, those general ideas survive even through many many changes to the game. Some of the guidelines in my "10 guidelines" guide... are things I was taught back when I started playing, which was in summer of 2013... and they are still viably good ideas, expressed in the same words, exactly because they are general concepts.
That said - some people call Aux2Bat builds "old fashioned" or even "obsolete" given the revamped Photonic Officer and Boimler's. I very much do not agree. About half my ships use Aux2Bat still (partly due to the cost of Boimler's, and also my aversion to relying on RNG for something that important).

Stobetter is an awesome resource (I use it mostly for their traits tier list), but yes, they do post full builds there, and I've only slightly looked at them (and never tried to copy one).
There isn't a ton of difference between Advanced and Elite builds. The premise is always the same: as much survivability as is needed to not explode, and the rest goes into damage output.
Very often you'll need to backslide on how much resource space (consoles, traits, etc) you have to put into survivability as Elite TFOs can be awfully rough on the beaver. There really is a minimum amount of damage output you should be bringing, too, as some TFOs have pretty tight time limits.
Random Elite TFOs are likely to be a gong show for a while, with a lot of failing. You'll still be better off running with a premade if your goal is farming materials, though with random elite's giving you a choice of materials, I suspect you'll see premades or at least partial premades, queuing random.

OMG, I flashed back to the same scene!
I dunno, I thought that was pretty straight forward. There's been talk of survivability, perhaps you could tell us how you increased your build's durability?
Also, what of the Elite Fleet weapons? Worthwhile, or not?
DPS is pretty much a minimum bar, if it takes too long to kill basic enemies you will not survive long enough to kill them off. Let alone the big dreadnoughts or Bosses.
