Help needed: Activating Promo Codes in Star Trek Online with a Steam Account

Hi,
I recently received a promotional code for Star Trek Online and I'm looking to redeem it.
My game access is through my Steam account, and I'm not sure how to proceed with activating the code in this scenario.
Does anyone have experience or knowledge about redeeming such codes via Steam?

Aw crap, I'm sorry for the situation. I think you got got brother. If It's not accepting the steam login then this is going to be a hoop jumping pain in the tucas. Back before Cryptic was bought out by PWI, Perfect World instituted a policy that your forum name couldn't be the same as your login name for security reasons which is obviously so half azzed a solve for security issues that that's a whole 2005 derptastic other thing. But it is what it is. It's been decades since I've navigated their system so take this with a grain of salt since they might have changed things in their accounts twice over with their subsequent owners.


What you're going to need to do is set up an arc account with a different login and password. Once you've set that up somewhere buried in that account information page should be an option to bridge (if I'm remembering correctly they called it a bridge,) to bridge your steam account to your arc account. I forget the bridging processs but Murphy's Law suggestS that you'll be bouncing back and forth between your arc and your steam to synch the two. Once that's all good to go, THEN you'll want to use the code redemption in your arc account settings and then log out of all of that, I don't know what it'll do if you enter the code before the accounts are bridged but I assume fubar for your code lewt. Log into your STO from steam and whatever goodies the code is giving you will either appear as a pop up notification when you log in or it'll need to be claimed on probably the promotions tab in the Zen Store. I made an Arc account and had to contact Arc support for them to link my Steam-created STO account with it so I could redeem codes through Arc account.
