Ive gotten three in the last 10 years. I usually open 250K dil worth of them every month.
But i will just have never understood the desire to waste a ton of resources on a gambling mechanic when a perfectly good guaranteed dil to zen return is there for c-store account wide goods.
domino console :(
Not worth the waste of dil, spend that dil on guaranteed returns, superior upgrades to your toon and ships via the fleet store, and then c-store zen ships and gear, rather than continue to flush it all down the drain on a gamble, palatable guaranteed rewards and gains versus a higher chance of nothing at all. ;)
The resulting Phoenix Boxes are generally broken down until I get upgrades by a hundred or more when its all stacked up.
Then go upgrade something that needs it. I dont have too much left to upgrade after years of doing that on my bridge crew, ship stuff and ground stuff etc. That will happen later this year.
I dont do much else except play the game a few minutes several times a week to collect assignments, reputation and finish training etc.
You could play this 50 years if CBS could stand to run it that long and it will be without a end or completion as typical of grinding type games that are free to play or subscription based etc. So thats the first thing you need to do buy the lifer on sale once a year. That will more than pay for itself in about two years.
Dil is not the problem anymore. It overflows if I dont have anything to upgrade any given month. The fleet is maxed out. Armada also. SO... whatever else accumulates will eventually max out in the inventory.
I have not put in a dollar into the game in years. I dont remember the last time I did for STO.
There are other games I do spend something now and then but only on sale but not STO, its a self functioning game now. Does not need cash anymore.
I am only pointing out that you can gain guaranteed rewards account wide rather than being kept on the back foot via PPP boxes, but your dil your choice. ;)
