Xbox account transfer with paid for ships and items
Iv heard recently that STO is thinking of not allowing STO fans who have characters and paid for materials on the P.C to transfer our belongings or our fleets over to xbox. This i do not understand...Iv heard all of the complaints that P.C. people who had previouse accounts would be O.P. in PVP but This game is 90% PVE and 10% pvp for one thing...and the other if STO dosnt want there fan base to have the things they have paid for and worked for on console thus giving us an advantage then by all mean make us creat new characters but give us the Items we PAID for.I dont mind making a new character but as for Remaking my fleet and losing all the items i spent a large amount of money on to get...I dont see how that is fair or right.Dont go down that road STO,You have a large fanbase on P.C. already it will grow on console but console players will never spend the money the P.C. side has and I for one will NEVER buy another thing from STO if i lose my purchased items Attached to my account.I dont want to do it but I will cancel my subscryptions to your company and never subscribe again either.By stripping us of our purchased items you are in affect stealing from us.I would say that a way around that is to transfer our fleets and items but then either make us start new characters or Id even be willing to pay a transfer fee...a modest one becouse it after all is us PAYING to have items we already PAID for transfered to xbox.I would like everyones thoughts on this and If theres a dev out there who can speak to this I would like to know what is going on.
This comes down to console players whining becouse they want to be the most powerfull ship in the universe...but that just isnt how startrek works.there is always a more powerful ship out there.I knew that when i joined on the P.C. side.As i said before I activly seek pvp matches but they are very rare....Iv been in only 12 in the last 6 months.most people ignore the challenges or you cant even get a pvp match becouse no one is doing pvp.Instead the sto commmunity is out there helping other captains and fighting in pve group or fleet events.
Id be very interested in hearing from sto fans on where they stand on them not transfering your paid for items and accounts or fleets to console....if anyone has put time into the game as i have you have spent money on ships and other things so im sure this wouldnt sound right to you either. We need to let STO know that this would be a bad move on an otherwise great franchise.
Thanks for your time.

you need to post that on the official server, i don't think Devs read the STO steam forum.

Now I'll admit, I've only skimmed your post, it's too long, but regardless you'll probabily be logging into STO on the Xbox using your Xbox live account, and not your ARC account, that's why it woln't transfer over, I'd be honestly surprised if Microsoft even allowed the Xbox players to connect to the same server as the rest of us.

I remember having read, that it is not planned to interconnect console and pc accounts, but transfer could be possible.
good luck with cryptic/pwe support...you'll see what i mean ;)

Stick to PC or man up and start a new character. The amount of time to catch up to old characters is insurmountable. That kind of opposition is, in all likeliness, going to destroy the game's life. Consoles are about casual competitive games. No one wants to play against those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beam boat romulans with full rep gear when just starting out. Just like a game coming from beta, we all start on equal footing. I'm sorry you can't use your expensive character to troll noobies but if you plan to not inhabit a ghost Galaxy, I recommend you start out and give the new players a chance. This is why PvP is dead on PC and why I plan to start a new character as well despite dropping close to 300 on my current loony toon.

I read somewhere that transferring current characters would be impossible due to some separate servers or something.

Either way, Cryptic won't transfer your account because if you're playing on PC you might as well play on PC. Cryptic only cares about new people coming to the Console versions of STO, not those vets who might wish to transfer.

I don't know what you mean, please enlighten us.

I had to contact them 2 times so far, and I got fast and resposive answers and my problems got resolved mere hours later.

I find it unlike that they would have been connection between PC and console version of the game of anykind since most console ported MMOs I've read about seems to read a server seperate from the PC. I've heard its basicly the thing with DC Universe Online.

I wanted the steam communitys thoughts...I dont put much trust in arc and if enough people comment maybe you guys will go and sign the petition to make our accounts tranferable.Id heard the samething as for them NOT doing it,but it was an unconfirmed choice. As for the length of my post...I wanted to get my idea accross so everyone could respond with there thoughts.
As i said before i find the steam users to be more gamer savy.
ImperatorPavel Jul 13, 2016 @ 11:28am
except that Cryptic doesn't give a crap about the Steam forums. And Cryptic wants you to spend your money on a console server to get all the stuff you already had.

You are the exception to the maturity rule.I believe i was very clear in explaining that i dont give a crap about starting a new character I dont need to troll anyone.there is no PVP in this game barely anyway.I want the things i spent my money on.As for the rest idc about starting a new character, and your blind if you dont see the money opertunity hear.they get double the money. All you care about is crying over you not being the best,or you didnt get a fair choice or blah blah, dude if we go by your logic then everyone should just start new characters even after xbox release once a new player starts playing the damned game.Fact...there will always be a stronger player then you...get over it.I dont really care about killing anyone,it is not my focus in this game.
If i wanted to troll you id just put you on the 75th ranger regiment gc k.o.s list,i dont need some superpower ships, but i want the things iv paid for.
Look if your going to make insulting imature comments then please go troll someone elses feed.Im asking seriouse players...you dont have to share my opinion about game content but you dont have to act like a 2 year old either.
I go out of my way to explain my points in drawn out posts at least READ it if your going to try and troll a comment or post.or go to another post kewl?

I dont think it is fair to rip off every gamer who has put time into this game just becouse they want to go over to the console. As i stated before dont forget that this is a great oppertunity for the devs to rip off long term players just becouse some people want to whine saying "ohh they got a head start" After launch EVERYONE will be able to say that ♥♥♥♥.its a simple fact of life that once a game starts if you join later there will be more powerful ships in the game, and commanders. This is NOT dayz where it is PVP focussed.the STO community as a whole has been some of the most helpful, mature and kind group iv ever played an mmo with. With the options to have fleets and blah blah there will always be a give take as for power.
Anyway letting me have my fleet as well as the items i bought...even if i have to earn rank to use them by making a new character is far better then getting ripped for 60$.
Most who complain about the power gap in PVP are more then likely trolls themselves.becouse they are actually worried about someone being more powerfull then them...WHO CARES!! thats life there will always be someone or something out there more powerful then you or me or whoever.it is what it is.letting people who paid for there items keep them on console is in my opinion just a way for perfectworld entertainment to get more money.
I mean its ok for a leven 5 to buy a temporal ship thats as combat effective as a t5 or t6 on the console as long as they have to REBUY it when switcing?how is that not exactly what that hairbrain was talking about?he stated as much he will be spending 300$ as soon as it comes to console, all in the same comment he ♥♥♥♥ on console players lol.good lord thats one mixed up individual.
Reaper294 Jul 13, 2016 @ 11:53am
I believe if we can give them an alternative to pissing off the whiners who wanna be trolls but would be stopped by more powerful ships then they might let us keep what we have already paid for...some of us dont live in mommys basement and when we pay for things we expect to have access to them.
I also dont believe that they wont use the arc login to sign into the xbox side.they have other games that have switched and they do the samething.you sign into thru there app.
One other thing...this isnt a competition between xbox and P.C. for ♥♥♥♥♥ sakes so whoever wants to crap on console people...take a breath grow up and get over yourself. You cant stop progress and more and more games that are P.C. only are going to the console...if it was as crapy as that kid said it was it wouldnt be able to handle it,lucky us for cloud i guess.
Eitherway i appologise to the seriouse ones who want there thoughts opinions and ideas to be heard.Ill be taking the idea's to there site when im done.also Im a member of a gaming community that is voting to allow us our paid for items,I mean i bet they wont shirk taking your money on a monthly payment.Eitherway so thats 9,640 votes already to bring the paid for items over to console.there are other petitions all over the place as well.TONS and TONS of them.So as far as iv seen the only ones ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the transfer are ignorant, imature kids who play games 24/7 and HAVE got to be better then EVERYONE else.Like i said i personally do not care if there are a ton of people who have better ships then me.
PVP isnt dead by the way becouse of oped people and blah blah becouse they got a headstart on the damned game.this games been out for a long time.its dead becouse of hackers/cheaters and the co-op pve is more fun for most players.Iv been trying to get into a pvp match for a long time and iv talked to allot of sto players about this and they dont say a word about ship powers or anything when they say they dont play, they just say it loses its appeal basically.they would rather do player made missions in co-op with there friends or fleets then PVP.

Again anything anyone has heard please let us know by posting.Again thank you for taking time to read and comment and give us your opinions.

And again this... sigh. Please, when people will learn that (since the beginning of times) console versions and pc versions are completely different????????? almost every single version of a game isnt compatible with the console version of that game. MOST of em. Why STO will be different?????

Cryptic could make both versions compatible, but they wont, because

a) it requires even more money (and cryptic will never ever waste more money) b) Its too much effort and requires skills cryptic doesnt have c) they dont need it. And there is nothing you can do / write or cry that will change that.

Console versions will be just another game, you need to keep that in mind.
i laughed and agreed with most of that comment up till the part where you put in "cry" becouse if in effect...when someone posts or comments they are considered to be crying...then wernt you just wailing a tune?
They can make console version like the P.C. versions they have with many other games...Man im telling you when my buddies were talking to me about posting this they even said "Dont bother with P.C. people they have superiority issues and think they are better then anyone who uses a console". I didnt agree...I own a 6,000$ Assus P.C. with pretty close to top of the line hardware and software,I also own an xbox one.So im kind of in between.Tho there is certainly a difference between posting a comment on a forum or page and being in a room talking with someone who can make Trolls look like idiots without all the typing.
Honestly i have to say tho that this being my first time posting to a steam community forum to get feed back im fairly dissapointed. This was my choice in mediums to get opinions and idea's...yet so far i would say that 60% of the comments on hear are insulting to some extent, degrading to the one posting the comment{becouse they make themselves look damned stupid trying to make themselves look superior to others in some way}Or just in general serve no purpose,iv seen a few that are on topic and said in a way as would be said if that person was face to face with the other person...in other words, spoken with respect to themselves and to the others posting.
I hope to see more of the ones who are being constructive with there comments...becouse to all the ones who arent...your only making yourselves look stupid in your attempt to make yourself look superior.
I am starting to think tho that posting this was a mistake tho considering all the keyboard dumbasses and tuff guys.Ill give it a few more days tho and see if there are any people who play computer who arent trolls or worse.
