Generally speaking when ever a script fails to run, there isn't much else to do than drop the mission and restart.

Not necessarily drop it, but leave the mission (swirly galaxy icon, upper right corner of the screen with default UI) and hope you get to hop back into it some point near where it previously broke itself. Missions have 'restart' points throughout them, and I'm guessing it's because the underlying script system isn't super reliable.

That's true. Typically a "spawn point" gets created when the mission switches from space to ground or vice versa.

The hur'q went through the door where the prisoner will say were here to help.

Report it in game?
Sometimes going too far a head can cause issues, it's best to always stay back in some missions and progress at a proper pace along with the AI/NPC

So, I am seeing that there are reports of issues with this mission from 2018... and this thread is from 2020... Here I am now 4 years later and they still haven't fixed the mission... ugh...

^^^This 100% usually fixes any mission halting bugs you come across, so try first before dropping and restarting any missions, plus if you every lose your internet for a few moments while doing a TFO, then if your are quick enough to log back in it the game will usually take you right back into the TFO, assuming it has not been finished.
Script still fails to run sometimes
