Yeah, people who get a fresh ship tend to be susceptible to reasonable offers.
It sure beats putting that ship on the exchange for those hilarious sums and nobody buying it.
But the problem here is, to do what you suggest, you need a quite massive stock of EC to begin with. Not really helpful for someone still finding their feet like Ricco.
When you have that much EC already, there's no real point in farming, is there?
Unless all that work is then dumped into one of the aforementioned hilariously priced exchange ships, of course.
I have on occassion made a few million buy buying and selling ships, it all depends on the market fluctuatioons and a good portion of luck and being attentive.
I spend almost all my EC on stupid Mirror Universe ships once, when the basic ones ran for about 200k to 500k. Sold 'em all piece by piece for 2 mil upwards.
But those are very rare windows you need to jump on.
And, again, you need to have the cash first.
So, to get there: Yeah, do STFs selling mats and possible rewards / drops, do Tour the Galaxy if one has the equipment to make it worthwhile, and all the other little things like DOFF farming and whatnot. There is no really short way of making tons of EC.
Easy, yes. But short, no. It's a terrible grind, no two ways about it, but that's nothing unusual in MMOs.
Basically, just do all the "chores" you don't mind doing and keep an eye on worthwhile things at the exchange. Sometimes you can grab a bunch of keys very cheap, or other stuff that people want to get rid off quickly.
Sometimes people make mistakes, exploit that. Or they want to get rid of stuff quickly.
Point is, just play the game and learn what makes a good amount of cash, and if you don;t mind doing those things, do them until you are getting bored.
Example buying low and selling high, Doff packs, from where ever but usually lock boxes, average price is 510K but theres 10 items selling for 480k that someone put up for a quick sale, buy them all and stick them up for 505k and wait for the sale - 25k per pack x 10 250k EC's for virtually no work. This can back fire if you pick the wrong items to buy low and sell high. but combine that with your normal EC grind.....
Another one was when Accx4 Elachi DHC's were popular, i bought 1 for 15 million and sold it within minutes for 60 million which was still 20 million below the lowest exchange price.....instant 45 million profit and someone got a good deal.
Now i do all my EC's grinding by flipping ships and selling Omega particles, I've still got 4 stacks of Omega Fragments (purple ones) 3 of which are 999 stacks, they sell for about 900k a piece and a sell them or convert them to upgrades as i need but i understand not many people still have these as the evnt ended months ago.
I'm not infalible, ive made mistakes, like when i Bought a Tholian Recluse Carrier for 135 million and ended up selling it for 120 million because i was stuck with it for a while and i needed the EC's not inventory but ive made more than ive lost, it can come down to luck sometimes but more foten or not its being attentive to the market and seeing whats selling and whats not.
Bought the heavy mirror cruiser for example, 3 times when it was relatively low.
(Was still in the process of getting my EC up)
But it didn't recover to a point where it was worth it to seel them. One I used anyway for one of my ENGs, another I gifted to a friend. The last one I finally sold off, but I made a loss in the bargain even though the price had jumped severely. Point is, I should have been more patient.
On the other hand, I once grabbed a set of 5 fleet modules for the price of one - someone made a mistake and forgot to change the amount number. Felt slightly scummy, but then again the guy was so pissed off and insulting before I could even react to say anything that I went "Have it your way then" and put him on ignore.
Once you get to the point where EC isn't really an issue, yeah you can multiply it quite easily and quickly if you're careful, that goes without saying.
It's a bit of a Catch-22 though. You have to be careful and attentive and grind a lot and take care what you sell when to get large amounts of EC. And when you are finally there, it is suddenly almost useless since you have everything anyway.
So flipping ships is almost the only really worthwhile thing to do, getting more and more cash but having less and less worthwhile things to spend it on.
Even when they do, They'll offer me what i paid for the item, but i ask for double or triple back if theres enough profit in it because at the end of the day, they put it up for sale and i paid what they asked for, always double check your selling price before putting the item up. Sounds scummy but thats the world we live in lol.
That depends on the situation, people could be grinding the EC to buy Omega fragments to make upgrades because they are not making enough Dilithium to upgrade all their items, a new ships come out that they really want because they love the design or they love the layout/stats....They are converting easily earnt EC's into dilithium by buying Contraband and better Doff's to garuntee a critical success on certain missions....
It's all in the eye of the beholder, theres always a new in-thing weapon type that gives a not seen before advantage or that makes higher DPs numbers possible or whatever the person is in to.
Alot of people have fun playing with the market, that's their game, to each their own.
Its ok bud. Not everyone is able or willing. But accusing me to be full of crap is rich coming from you.
Yes general EC making rule. Fine buy low sell high which I already answered several times and used the extreme version such as that ship and the less extreme version which was the doff packs. Farming ECs isnt like it used to be with admiral bobo foundry mission. You have to be smart unless your going to sit for months making little by little.
Watching the screen for when people open a box and get a ship, going to the chat screen and pm'ing the guy isnt that hard and making an offer. Yea i was lucky and got 6 ships for that price. Ive not always made that big a profit but ive done it and so have others but you got to be on it and yea get lucky.
On a not so lucky route if youd remember from the other thread i said once you have the credits you can then make smart investments such as when the doff promotion packs are active, T5 JHAS (jem hadar attack ship) was one of them. During the event 300 mill, after the event 400 - 600 million. If you have the capitol you can do that and if your goal is making credits this is what you will do.
Its not an exact science but you sir are the one full of crap never backing up your claims and acting superior.
Oh and im not your "mate". If you cant find the chumps selling these things then you are one like that old poker saying "If you cant see the donkey at the table then its you".
Sick of your superior attitude and general arrogance to those asking general questions l. Being bitter about how the game has ended up and doscouraging others from spending cash is one thing, i can appericiate that. What you do is beyond that. So get over yourself "mate" no one listens to an arrogant T**t that considers himself the be all and know all this game. Because you are not, youve heard youve listened youve learned some but you havent learnt anything yourself nor are you capable and until you provide evidence to the contrary thats all any one on this forum think. But you dont care right? Because its stupid...right? Easy escape for someone who cant bsck their ♥♥♥♥ up. I before you say i havent ive shown time and time again im willing and able to prove it....
Indeed its seen as a form of PVP these days though it too is far from balanced as there are a few who are able to control the market, the dili exchange and price of keys is proof of that.
