Slipstream Speed?
Hi everyone, Sorry if you have answered this question before but I have searched high and low for an answer and found nothing.

I am a lvl 56 Atarfleet Admiral with a Guardian T6 cruiser. When i go to slipstream I reach a maximum of warp 20. My friend has an Assault Cruiser (rear admiral upper half) and is able to reach a maximum slipstream of 30+? We have the same engines and warp core so I am wondering if my ship is capped at a max of 20 slipstream?

Also our warp speeds whilst not in slipstream are different. I can reach 9.97 whilst he can reach 12.34? He does not have any consoles that give him extra speed so I am just stumped!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

maybe have him and you put a common lvl 1 (impulse engines, deflector dish, shield, warpcore) pull out all engineering consoles , and then race. Your class, level, traits and skill selection can make a difference.

Thanks buddy. Just looked at the site you posted which was helpful but I think I am going to try your idea on taking everything off our ships and going back to lvl 1 equipment. I am also going to compare our traits now so will let you know what the results! Thanks for the help buudy

Stripped the ships down and removed all traits... It is upsetting to confirm that I have bought a ship capable of only slow movement whilst in slipstream! Thanks for your help Running-Target!

I have a impulse drive with a "lesser a-syncronus warp field" trait, it allows me to hit warp 19. Pilot skill puts my slipstream speed at about warp 30. its an "advanced Fleet hyper-impulse engine"

I can't see any Pilot skills that benefit slipstream - do you know which tier it is in?

this discription says its modified by "driver coil skill" have no idea what that is tbh.

I have tried everything I can think of and have been messing around with loadout, skill and trait. Still no luck.

there dose not appear to be any info on what a ship's base warp speed is. However a warp core with [SecSpd] and/ ore [SSS] modifiers on will increase the max warp a ship is capable off.

Also the base max warp speed appears tied to level at lvl 1 the base max is 7.2 at level 50 its 9.97. Having the Sector Space Travel Speed skill will increase that spped along with the modifiers above. sector space travel speed is a science skill unlock that needs 5 points put into other science skills.

You'll find it's you impulse drive type that gives you an asynchronous warp drive with some stuff. For example, the fleet combat impulse engines will give you an asyncronous warp drive allowing you to push speeds of up to warp/transwap 19.2 with a megre 20 (base) power in engines.

This also impacts your slipstream/transwarp capabilities allowing a base power of 20 in engines to push you at transwarp 32.

There's also one of the skill perks (after you invest enough in science skills) that increases your sector speed...

My ships were caped at warp 9.97 in sector space before the skills revamp, and now they're all at 12+ transwarp after taking the sector space boost from the science tree.

So most likely explanation is that he has that bonus and you don't.

SecSpd is the skill that replaced Driver Coil on equipment (secspd doesn't exist directly on the skill tree, but as said there is a science unlock for a 25% boost).
